Elhai has worked for the Jets for 26 years. 2019 was when he was given his current title.

Elhai does business; he does not do football.

    Hymie Elhai

Yeah, I know he was there for quite some time beforehand. That's some success story to be a ball boy for 25 years and have that promotion land in your lap like that. o_O

Where did you get the "Pres of football ops" from? The jets website and everything else I find shows just the GM title.

Defacto.. There's evidently two of them. Hymie handles the dollars, Mougey handles the personnel.

But how can that be if Johnson went back to Glenn and Mougey being equals and reporting directly to him? A head coach would certainly report to the President of Football Operation who would be the guy to report to the owner, like Elhai being the President of Business Operations and the point man for all non-football operations like tickets.

Are they equals in fact? All kinds of strangeness are coming out on this franchise Woody being the wildcard in all of this. Glenn's seat has to be considerably hotter than Mougey's. The drama behind the coaching staff firings and the DC hire certainly undermines Glenn's position as shot caller now. Again, in all of this Mougey is not mentioned. They both report to Woody, but at this point I highly doubt Glenn and Mougey are on the same level anymore. Now if the Cimini article has any validity, changes everything regarding Mougey. This situation is untenable at best.

They’re talking on Evan & Tiki right now that Mougey is miserable given how toxic of a work environment Woody creates and how involved he is.

Take that for what it is but it’s coming from multiple sources.

He's solid so far, but I need to see a little more before I have any real confidence in him. It's not his faulty, but the Jets have been such a dumpster fire for so long that I can't really give anyone the benefit of the doubt. By the end of next season, its possible he's just another 7-27 GM in Jets history lol.

Most of the draft picks have showed some promise at the very least. Membou is a beast and Taylor looks solid. Most of the day three guys looked fine for what they were. Its also tough to judge anyone when they blatantly tanked the second half of the season.

I need to see some of these guys start to become actual players though. It feels like forever since a late round pick became anything worth a damn. I know a lot of that is on coaching, but this kind of stuff falls on the GM as well.

This is a really important draft. Jets have somewhere between 10-12 picks. Those early picks need to be used on good players, and some of those later picks will probably be traded for the JFMs of the world. He needs to hit on those as well.

Hell Mougey looked miserable in his opening press conference. The guy is low energy

Lol I just listened to the segment. They doubled down then said the jets shouldn't respond and it's no big deal. They want it to go away after they talk about it it seems. I used to respect Evan but this is just bad content.

See how it plays out I guess.

    Where's the beef?

All we ever see or hear is people talking in circles, careful to never make a declarative statement. When will we hear some specifics instead of just more of the same old mumbo jumbo?

Total bullshit about Moogie. What sources? I don't understand why we like to swallow every bullshit report from nobodies with anonymous sources. The guy who "reported" this is a total joke and changed the story multiple times. First Mooge was telling everyone at sr Bowl, then when he found Mooge was not at sr Bowl he made up something else. Please. Complete horseshit, how gullible can people be.

Chambliss got his waiver denied. If he enters the draft maybe he becomes a target for the staff in round 2 or later

Man, I don’t know…to me this is such a bad look for him at least in my eyes.

I want a QB who wants the fucking ball. Not a QB who is so scared of the big bad NFL that he is suing to go back for a fucking 6th damn year of college ball. Reminds me of those pop warner or high school days when parents would hold their kids back so they could be a year older playing against younger kids in high school…just kind of icky to me.

That is not the mindset I’d like in my QB.

Side note: Isn't it nuts that a pro sports team has this many high-level executives? Christ. I remember when we were the last team to actually hire a real GM (Steinberg) Seems so many of these guys have it made. I mean, I doubt Hymie was the star of his Pop Warner team. I know it's NFL-wide, not just us.

I guess it requires extra personnel to find ways to extract the fans money from them LOL

This is my stance as well. Only a kid, who is deathly afraid of failing at the next level, fights this fucking hard to STAY in school. Want NOTHING to do with him. The most basic of necessity to being a QB of an NFL team is they have to "want" to be there. I get none of that feeling from anyone that goes this route. It's as if he KNOWS he's going to fail and/or wants nothing to do with the NFL so he'll squeeze as much from the college game as possible.
