Boomer mentioned Reich admires Ben Johnson, loves his schemes, and was very excited to work with Hayden, our OL coach, because he came from that tree. It sucks Tanner didn't want to stay in demoted role, he is from that tree as well. But I was actually encouraged by the fact Reich is looking at modern schemes, understands their effectiveness, and not some old school dinosaur set on ancient ways. Maybe there is some hope after all. If we could just a QB...

Boomer has been his hype man for the past month lol.

Reich has done pretty well with mid-tier level QB’s. Seems like a smart football guy. We could’ve done much worse.

Boomer is his old college roommate and a friend. Frank told him about his affinity for Ben Johnson's schemes and he was looking forward to working with Hayden in particular. It wasn't meant to be a hype when he said it, just a fact. Came up when he was answering Dick Chimney's question.

Yeah I agree we could’ve done much worse…this should be a decent hire.

I was trying to remember what the connection was between Reich and Glenn and then remembered that they were teammates that one year where Reich was our backup QB…

Ok, I'm going to be the first fool to float the idea...

    Justin Fields?

Let's be honest, there's enough resources going to the QB position right now. Go into the season with Reich trying to get something out of Fields, pick up a guy at 44 or later and plan for 2027. Let's face it, the FA market is horrendous this year and NO ONE looks good, not within the Jets reach anyway. He's already under contract and would put in the "work" if he want to continue to be, at the very least, a backup in this league.

The options aren't good this year.

Please throw only rotten lettuce and tomatoes. o_O

No, no, and hell no. We are going to take a 10 mil save and move on. The guy said he wasn't going to be a back-up since he didn't want to come in cold worrying about soft tissue injury. Then hurt his pussy in practice and was placed on IR. Did you forget we had to bring in a Hooker from Oklahoma to replace him? I know he was invited to Pro Bowl and everything, but we tried, failed, and now we take 10 mil and move on.

I know, I heard it this morning. And I’ve been hearing Boomer hype him up for over a month. It’s biased because of your first sentence.

It’s ok, I don’t think he’s trying to purposefully skew it but he has been friends with the guy for 40 years. Of course he’s going to continue saying nice things about him.

Yes, he was hyping him up, and there was plenty there, but I did not post that part. I just posted the fact he was thinking so highly about Ben Johnson, which I personally found to be a good thing as it told me he is looking at modern schemes instead of being stuck in old ways, which I was worried could have been the case since he is older.

Do you think the Ben Johnson bit is not the truth and Boomer made it up to hype him?

Do I think Frank Reich, a guy coaching modern football, is looking at modern offenses? Yes I do.

For me, it's been downhill since September going 0-4. The worst team in the League, but don't get the #1 pick. Glenn retained somehow. Dante pulls out, we have #2 in 1 QB draft. Doing a coaching search that looked a total shit show with Wink reported as about to get a DC job. We fire Tanner, who I thought didn't deserve to be fired, That was the lowest point of probably my being a fan - 30 years.

But to Glenn's credit, following that it appears he made a couple of good moves. One is to not get Wink and call plays himself, while bringing in a young guy with potential from Detroit via Miami as a DC. I do not know if it work or not, but every head coach now days who can call his side of the ball, calls it, at least to get the system established. Glenn may not be a great defensive coach, but he is way better than Wink. He did call #7 defense in 2024 for Detroit in spite of injuries. A year before it was average. Before that for two years was bad. Still the last two years were average and above average. If he can do that here, that is a massive improvement over Wilks.

Then he gets Reich. Reich is a former QB, SB winner as an OC for a team who did not have good QBs, and has done remarkable job with QBs who were not that good, like Wentz, Brissett, and past his prime Rivers. His last two years in NFL 2022 and 2023 were not good. Out of football in 2024, and Stanford coach in College 2025, so coached recently, but not much to show last 4 years. So, he is a risk too, but there is some upside there. Are we going to get someone past his expiration date or someone who is good, but perhaps didn't get a fair shake last two years in the NFL?

Now, they gotta get a QB somehow which will be hard. But that would have been the case with any coach this year, even if Glenn was fired. It's always the case here unfortunately. We are going to find out, but Glenn is clearly doing something different, and something that maybe actually has a chance. A very small one, but better than what it was a week or so ago.

MILF will call plays, and his brother MLF, who also had Hack as OC, probably told him Hackett serves mean cappuccino. All he needs now is MVP QB, and he will be just fine.

I don’t agree but I think that might be one of the potential plans. If Roman had got the OC job (or even if he’s made part of the staff), I could see him trying to resurrect Fields as a major part of the run game.

Please hire Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland who just resigned. Tell him to name his price.

Reich loves our current OL coach, Heiden. So, I highly doubt this happens.
