Agreed…no idea how much of that noise is real or not, and the concerning part to me was if Mougey’s comments are real, and he’s getting pissed at Woody the Imbecile meddling, that does not bode well for us. I think that as long as Woody owns the team, the only real way out of this mess is for Woody to hire a real leader of football ops…I don’t care if it’s the GM or a President of Football Ops, or whatever title they use, but we so desperately need SOMEONE who knows what the fuck they are doing AND is established enough to really get Woody to just sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up. It would have to be someone with real credibility. Mougey may be a smart guy, but as a rookie GM, he probably doesn’t have enough mustard to tell the owner to go away and butt out and let him handle it. But man, these kinds of leaks may or may not be based in reality, and probably the truth is somewhere in between it all, but where there’s smoke there’s fire, and the dysfunction here runs VERY deep. Out here in LA I don’t get any of that and don’t listen, but honestly, if all the radio guys and media guys are bashing Woody and the way this team is run, I’m ALL for it. The more heat the better. Seems like that’s the only thing that gets Woody to do anything…in fact, seeing that he kept Glenn and made him fire practically the entire staff, I’m thinking there’s not ENOUGH heat on Woody… if they are all saying this is the most dysfunctional team in the league, nay in all sports…I’m saying keep piling on. Woody deserves ALL this shit and more.

Me as well. I do an hour commute, each way, and catch the NFL on Sirius. Pretty decent programming and they keep the Jets “stuff” to a minimum when it comes to negativity. They have all the fodder in the world but usually keep it on the “table” so to speak. As fans, we know we suck, have sucked for years so I guess they don’t feel the need to pile on. Lol
I don’t know…I honestly don’t mind the piling on really…we ALL know we’re a clown show. I say keep the pressure on Woody…embarrass the fuck out of him if it’s even possible. The more the better. Nothing seems to motivate that asshole more than negative publicity. So keep it coming. I want everyone calling his stupid ass out. Maybe it’ll motivate him to go and find a football guy. It’s the only shot we have…and anyways, Woody did this to himself…he deserves all the shit he gets, and it’s still not enough for how poorly he has treated our fanbase. He has FUCKED this team and at least for me, I am more hopeless than I’ve ever been…even with all those picks…it doesn’t move the needle because the way Woody operates is so damn awful.
I just don't believe it. There have been no leaks from the Jets, so bunch of these assholes are making things up. Even Connor Hughes, who actually, has some decency admits he has no sources, but thinks it is possible Woody meddled since he did it in the past. But no one cited any actual source for any meddling, and Mooge is not a source, it's bullshit. Woody may have earned this treatment, because of his past meddling, but dragging Mooge into this was pathetic.
One more thing I will say on the meddling, now that Reich has been hired, I don't think Tanner demotion/firing was Woody's doing based on the facts we know. Glenn according to Dick Chimney was always in touch with Glenn after they were teammates. Boomer also confirmed they were close, and Boomer know Reich. We also know Glenn told coaching staff, including offense, to see if they can get new jobs. That's not something you do when you plan to keep the OC in the same role, you would just decide at that point whom to keep. But we also know he was looking early for the HC of the offense. All that points to Glenn wanting to demote Tanner and bring in a top offensive guy prior to alleged meddling by Woody, which supposedly started later when Glenn visited him in Florida and then Glenn came back and told Wink he would call plays. And even that i am not sure Woody is the reason for him calling plays, but either way it happened later as Wink supposedly was convinced at some point he was coming in. Did Woody meddle and told Wink he wasn't going to pay both Reich and Wink and asked him to call plays. Possible, but also possible Glenn came to this conclusion himself after interviewing 8 candidates. That's basically the same conclusion 9 out of 10 new coaches this cycle came to as well - to call their own plays. But either way Reich for Tanner seems like Glenn's doing, and Tanner picked departure over demotion. Whether Glenn was right or not remains to be seen.
Why do we spend every offseason reading tea leaves about this f'n team??? Can for once we have a normal offseason with normal occurances minus all the drama and intrigue??
I like Reich but I think it’s hyperbole to say he wanted to bring in a top offensive guy and Reich is who we got lol.
