Where is the outrage though? We are just asking why not to hold off for a day or so to see if the new coach wants him or not. Not to permanently block the move. It's like you are looking for every opportunity to create some sort of conflict over nothing.
Lot of that probably just boils down to the good ol boy network of people looking out for your own and making sure guys around the league doing this for a living don't go without a paycheck. For all we know his "passing coordinator" duties might primary revolve around the aspects of the day-to-day like being an extra set of hands in practice or making sure guys get their weekly prep sheets. Or basically nothing of a the-buck-stops-there responsibility note. One of the underlying aspects I really didn't like about the Engstrand hire last year for a team that is so desperate for an offensive mind "can we even ever just be freaking average" savior. It was hard to really pin down what he even did in Detroit, and who seemingly didn't think enough of what he did to keep him around as Ben's replacement. I don't want our next OC to be a guess guy. I want a vet mind with direct responsibility experience and who has some track record of success i can lean my fan belief into.
you can't temporarily block an employee from interviewing with other teams. Both the employee and the other team don't operate on temporary Jets-time
https://x.com/i/status/2018498417815617970 Cimini "The Jets have completed in-person interviews with Darrell Bevell and Greg Roman for their offensive coordinator vacancy, the team announced. No mention of Frank Reich. #Jets"
Looks like Boomer mentioned Reich is on vacation, plus they already talked to him when they planned to bring him in and demote Tanner. Even worked on the contract to the point Reich was sure he was going to be hired according to Hughes. There is no need see him in person again. Not sure what happened, maybe it is still the plan to hire Reich as OC and bring one of these two guys for another role? Probably tomorrow we will know. I would like an idea of Reich as an OC and Bevell as QB coach and pass game coordinator. Then all we are missing is the QB!
Frank Reich is in Florham Park today according to Rosenblatt. I don’t think the timing is coincidental. I really think we could end up with the trio of all three guys which would be a pretty nice staff. Albeit at 10 years too late on all of them.
On his radio show, Boomer revealed he and Frank are having dinner tonight in the Florham Park area. Make what you'd like of that info. Seems the job is his and an announcement will come shortly.
I hope that we at least can all agree on the fact that Frank Reich is a significantly better higher than Matt Nagy. What are the Giants thinking?
I would not mind Reich as OC…and I think he’d be a decent interim HC if AG gets canned…I know he failed badly in Carolina, but he had some bright spots in Indy…I don’t know…not a great HC candidate by any means at this point, but I feel like he’d be better than what we’ve had here in a long fucking time… But yeah, we could do a lot worse than Frank Reich for OC
Yes we can. I got you one better though: https://x.com/ZackBlatt/status/2018847598485049651 I know @Kronoking will approve.
Is he though? Nagy got Trubisky to the playoffs 2/3 years with a top ten scoring offense in the first appearance. It’s 6 and 2 3’s to me but I am surprised Nagy hasn’t gotten another head coaching shot yet. I thought he was pretty creative in how he hid Trubisky’s weaknesses and maximized strengths.
