Here's what happens in the Jets organization. When the Jets hire someone incompetent like Glenn, Gase, Maccagnan, Douglas, etc., they understand that the Jets are their only hope at a top job in the NFL. So they go to Woody behind the other people's backs and convince him the other people are the problem, and because Woody has an IQ in the 80s (I'm not exaggerating; I really believe his IQ is in the 80s), he falls for it every time. Meanwhile the competent (not saying they're great or even good, but at least competent) people like Bowles, Saleh, LaFleur, Engstrand, etc. know that they will get a good job if the Jets fire them and are honestly pretty sick of it all after awhile, so they let the incompetent people shit talk them to Woody and book the first flight out of Florham Park.

Engstrand was the least of our problems and it was borderline impossible to fairly grade him given our QB play. His firing is just further confirmation that the people really in charge, Glenn and Woody, don't have the slightest clue what they're doing. We had WRs open all year, we just couldn't hit them. We had a top 10 running game. To fire our OC after a year like that is just insane.
Oh man yeah I agree…there is no way the Manning family lets Arch end up here. No way. They will force a trade like they did with Eli. Or they will tell Arch to go back to school instead (I don’t know how many years of eligibility he has left after next season, but the way college football is going these days, I’m sure he can find a way to go back if he wanted to). Not sure if this is true this time. I think HoJ nailed it. I think that is what's happening. When Saleh fired MILF it was clear Woody forced him. This time I am not sure. It may be Glenn doing this on his own. When we heard Glenn wanted experienced guy in Reich (or someone of that sort) to call plays, but still keep Tanner as OC, that was as odd an arrangement as I have seen. Doesn't seem fair to neither Tanner not Reich. So my guess is that way it shook out is that neither liked it and Glenn had to choose.
I mean Woody didn’t fire him after the season so I think he already knew he had another season. Does this buy him an extra year? New staff excuses for starting the new year off 0-7? I hope fuckn not
Rosenblatt is saying he can't find an instance of this ever happening before where a HC has fired both coordinators after 1 year while keeping his own job. We invented several new levels of ineptitude this year.
This is all I’m saying. There’s 0 reason to believe this was all an Aaron Glenn decision and history dictates it was probably way closer to 50/50 with the Glenn 50 being heavily influenced by the fact his team’s owner wants it.

It's all speculation, but I doubt this was Woody. His beef seemed to be with the QB. Again, no idea what's happening behind the scenes, but this strikes me as a terrible move. Tanner showed promise and certainly has more upside than Frank Reich. I'd be shocked if Glenn does anything other than run this team further into the ground. What a mess he's making of this coaching staff. The silver lining is they will probably have the 1st overall pick next year with a new HC
Unfortunately, I don't think the 1st overall pick matters really. I get it, this team is going to have to DOOM some poor bastard to being drafted by this shithole of an organization but if any of the TOP QB's really give a shit about their careers they'll do everything legally feasible to NOT be a part of a draft where this organization has the 1st overall pick. Then again, who the fuck am I kidding, this team is INCAPABLE of landing the 1st overall pick because, make no mistake about it, with this organization's luck TWO teams could go 0-17 and we'd be #2 based on strength of schedule. Now THAT is the Jetsiest thing of all.
