Imagine how difficult it will be to bring in a good DC, someone to help with QB development and FA players without drastically over paying them. That's what keeping a coach on the hottest of seats does to an organization. If we had fired Glenn and brought in a respected coach it would immediately eliminate a lot of the issues and boost fan and player morale. Except Woody is an idiot.

Fuck Todd McShay, he is very biased against the Jets and particularly Woody after Woody didn't give his incompetent buddy JD 7th (!!!) year and fired him, and total piece of shit for propagating this against Jets. But unfortunately there is some truth to what he is saying. This is corroborated by other sources as well (not to the extreme this asshole is portraying it but still), including Connor Rodgers, and even some folks on this board with connections to draft prospects. Jets reputation right now is at all time low, worse than I ever remember as a fan in 30 years. Woody is a part of it, and mainly hiring incompetent people again and again and again. With Glenn as a coach now we hit the rock bottom. It's not hard to imagine at all a QB prospect who has multi million NIL options deciding to stay for an extra year instead of almost guaranteed to being coached by Glenn/Tanner/London combo. I hope that won't happen, but I definitely think it is a conversation. Woody angle Todd is pushing I think is a much smaller part of it. Bigger part is previous failures to develop a QB plus having incompetent coaches currently in place. What could have helped is hiring an offensive HC with good reputation, like Kubiak, McCarthy, etc... But we keep failed regime we have today, and especially factoring in previous failures, this is not very attractive, that's just unfortunate reality I am afraid.

I read that but I'm not really all that confident those couple guys they interviewed (some recently signed extensions) are really a good reflection of the team when it sure as shit doesn't seem that way from how some of the other ones like JJ and Breece act. The biggest tell will be who they are able to bring in this off-season as far as coaches and players (without crazy over pays).
And I'm sure he would be so thrilled to be a Raider. Or a Brown. Because the other teams picking high in the draft are such model organizations. This team can feel like it's cursed, but in reality, if you get a decent QB, decent coaching, and some decent players, they'll be decent again

Yeah. I also saw Sozopol's article above and I take back my claim. But one thing I am wondering, are players being nice in front of the media and saying something else among themselves? Regardless, he is staying and I accepted the fact and I am moving on. On the other hand, I can't stand pundits who shit on the Jets as if Raiders, Titans or Browns are a better organization.
