The first team in NFL history to lose 5 straight games by 23 points or more. Woody must be working on Glenn's extension right now.
And the Raiders just handed us #33 pick, 1st in the second round. Not a bad tank day. #2, #15/16, #33, #44 That is not bad. Fire Glenn, and this might be an attractive place for a new coach, especially if Moore declares.
If aaron glenn is allowed to be involved in the selection and development of this treasure trove of picks, Woody Johnson should be charged with a felony.
It didn’t continue in the right direction after the Dolphins game though. So how can that be the argument? You can keep writing it, but it doesn’t make it make any sense.
Definitely going to be looking at a lot of draft videos. Moore scares the hell out of me, but it's not his fault we drafted Zach Wilson
It makes total sense to not abandon your opinion because of a (all time) bad month. If you want are that quick to make declarations, that's your choice but I wouldn't put much stock into what you're selling then. Glenn put himself in this position though. If he does get fired, shit happens.
It’s a lot more than a bad month but I guess you’ve sold yourself on the fact that it was just a bad month and not a horrendous season. Two “good” games against bad AFC North teams with backup QBs on the backs of the special teams and a good game against the Falcons who also had their backup QB in (and we got a special teams play that setup a TD) doesn’t buy a coach time to me.
IMO it's dysfunctional to fire a coach after one season barring exceptional circumstances, such as Urban Meyer in Jax. Jerrod Mayo in NE was in over his head, had never even been a D-Coordinator, and the experienced, successful, and legendary ex-Pat Vrabel came available, that's another extreme case. I'm not saying it can't work out if you do it, but it shouldn't be Plan A. I also think the Jets were historically deficient in talent this year which would seriously impair any HC. I like AG's enthusiasm and his obvious love of the Jets, that shouldn't be dismissed, he's one of us. I'd like to see him get one more chance to turn things around. A further point in his favor: who is an available replacement, clearly better, and willing to come here? That said, I don't fault anyone for wanting a change. I just personally think it's embarrassing to keep churning through coaches, and odds are the next one won't be any better, given our history.
We are bad AFC East team. Their backup QBs were better than our qb play 90 percent of the season. Something flipped for you and that's fine. But months ago you were debating with people that it's ridiculous to put asterisks next to wins because special teams was a big factor, now it's a part of your argument. It's weird to me that would change because you decided Glenn should be fired.
Oh so you are now arguing that you have to stick with the same opinion you had two months ago? What the hell is that lol. Yeah circumstances evolved. The team was heading in the right direction after a horrible start. Then nose dived. We’ve now lost 5 in a row by 23+ which is a NFL record. We haven’t picked a ball off all year. NFL record. We fired our defensive coordinator before the end of the year in the first year of the coaching staff and then the defense got worse.
Yeah, you are more than welcome to change your opinion, but changing your opinion that Glenn should be fired is different than all of a sudden discrediting wins based on special teams.. both views changing at the same time is curious.
You mentioned Mayo was over his head. And Glenn is not? Mayo actually won more. And maybe as importantly he did not lose his last 5 games in a spectacular fashion Glenn just did to set multiple NFL records for ineptitude. If anything, this is our blueprint right there. Same thing happened in Houston recently when they fired their last coach. You think they are sorry about that now? Of course not. It is actually way more dysfunctional to keep the coach this bad. Way more. It should be obvious right now we have wrong coaching in place. I mean, to finish this bad, to look so pathetic for 5 games in a row. We are a laughing stock right now. Even the Raiders found a way to win a game somehow on a 60 yard FG and came close before with Houston. We got blown out 5 times in a row to end the year, and in this game the Bills played back-ups we should have at least be competitive with. It's clear as day we need to move on. An it will be dysfunction of the highest order to keep status quo after what we witnessed this year and especially in Dec and Jan.
I really don't know what else to say. It's just so apparent he's a horrible coach and should be fired. Woody is the only owner on the planet who wouldn't fire a guy after this sort of season. Not an opinion - history tells us that coaches who have had seasons like Glenn just did have all been one-and-done. We're just helpless as long as we have this bozo as an owner.
The wins aren’t being discredited. It’s an analysis on the overall body of work and it’s not a great sign if your only wins are on the backs of a special teams unit.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this is like the 7th straight season where the people "overreacting" a few games into the season turned out to be 100% correct. Good coaching isn't that hard to recognize if you watch a lot of other teams play. We haven't had anything approaching it in a very long time.
Falcons Fire Raheem Morris So, Morris, who actually did something and had a team that actually showed up on multiple occasions, gets fired, but Glenn is going to retain his job. Unreal.
The fact that AG could actually say "Brady Cook gives us the best chance to win" is hilarious. He isa hands down the worst i've ever seen.
Glenn should be fired. I could go on with specific details as to why, but I want to demonstrate the level of apathy I have right now.
