If Im the Jets, Im trading our picks this year to accumulate more and higher picks next year. Because the QB I want is Manning and you are going to need the #1 overall pick to get him next year.

    Hasn't Manning been terrible?

Started the year slow but got better later on. Next year will be telling on him. Based on the 3 fully game I watched him. :)

    He'll fit right in, then.

We can also pretty much shelve any talk of Manning being our QB. If they put their foot down and told San Diego that Eli wasn't going to play for them, I really can't see them allowing Arch to play for the Jets, who are an order of magnitude worse than those bad Chargers teams were.

Arch was fine. He looked good running straight through an unblocked hole uncontested. He is still nowhere near some sort of elite prospect against a undermanned Michigan defense.

Love the massive overreactions over the 3rd good game of his career.

I don't expect to be any better than the Jets' highly trained and experienced professionals at selecting the best QB for the team; even if I have done better than they have in the past. Jets draft picks are stockpiled, no player comes with a guarantee and the highest pick for QBs only turns out to be the best a third of the time so the Jets need to use their first pick every year on the best quarterback available until they get it right. Getting it right will then produce a solid decade of winning football. Most of these guys will not be ready for the NFL their first year, so picking the best you can every year should be the plan until one finally rises above the others - just concentrate on getting them ready in a couple of years. If it comes sooner, that's gravy.

The cost of trading up or down is not the answer for a team with so many needs. If you have two, or even three, QBs on rookie contracts at the same time it's better than letting the wrong guy go (see Darnold/Wilson) until one clearly beats out the other - rookie contracts are relatively cheap. If you happen to end up with two actually viable NFL players then is the time to think about trades. The commitment that needs to be made is to the team, not to any particular player - nobody needs to promise the guy's mother anything.

Yeah that's my concern. I'm not a college sports guy but I'll check the highlights and stats, but he hasn't really put together what appeared to be dominating performances.

Carson Beck looks solid. Could be wise to take a flyer on him mid rounds.

this OSU D is insane. Love Downs and McDonald. Don’t see the toe of Arvell Reese. Sonny styles is a good player too. But would love to try and get McDonald if we can in the second

He’s been a garbage prospect for over a year too so let’s wait another year and see where your opinion lands.

If you can find me calling him garbage, I'd like to see it. Even when he had bad games, Ive said he's the most bulletproof prospect because his grandfather and uncles won't let him fail.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m calling him a garbage prospect, I wasn’t accusing you of calling him one.

would be an awesome looking jersey too “Bain 4” in Jets green

Bain is relentless out there. He’s gonna get dinged at the Underwear Olympics aka NFL scouting combine cause he’s shorter and has short arms. But who gives a fuck, he’s a true football player.
