And you would feel great if we win 4 games instead of 3 against back-ups and lose out on a good QB in the draft? How did learning how to win with Special Teams against the Browns and Falcons help in the last month, which we finished with the worst point differential in NFL history? The damage is already done, Glenn is not the guy. What's left now for Glenn is to get blown out one last time against back-ups, so Woody finally sees the light, and be done here as a HC.
Let’s not overstate it. Jets lose and they pick 3rd. Jets win and they pick 4th. (Probably/maybe) I don’t think it’s that consequential win or lose
The Jets D is so bad right now I can't see this happening. Trubisky will light them up. But yeah, it would be so Jet-like if it does happen.
Titans and Arizona have 3 wins but below us now due to SoS, Cleveland and Washington have 4 wins, but would be ahead on SoS if we get 4th win. If these 4 teams lose we would drop 4 spots with a win.
Ideally, we lose this game. It's not the end of the world if we win though because we're no longer in the running for the prospect we really needed (Mendoza). The biggest reason to hope we badly lose this game is that it might nudge Woody in the direction of firing Glenn.
If they played the starters, of course. But they won't. And even the shittiest coach, which Glenn is, even by accident can beat another team's back-ups, who are playing a preseason playbook as not to give anything extra away for the play-offs. This is a dangerous game for us. Looking at past games at Buffalo stadium, which is about to close, this actually reminds me of 2015 in a crazy way. Back then we needed to win to get into the play-offs, and of course lost. Now we need a loss to get a shot at a good QB in the draft and hopefully get rid of this inept coach. It's a big game for us, and I think this may be a close game given Buffalo is in preseason mode now, getting ready for real games in play-offs.
It's too early to say if we lost a shot at Mendoza. You never know what the Raiders are going to do. There is still a lot of evaluation left. Remember how the Browns surprised everyone by picking Baker and we got Sam? Also, there are more reputable people coming out now thinking Moore is a top guy, like Kiper and now McShea: https://x.com/MarshallGreen_/status/2005693106109489270 This is not to say they are know all, but there is something to be said there. At this point, the evaluations are not complete. There is still a chance for Both Mendoza and Moore with #3 pick, maybe trading up to 2 without giving up Colts pick, so it is critically important to finish the tank. Also we cannot underestimate the importance of Woody maybe actually firing Glenn if we end on a losing streak. We win against the back-ups who are playing preseason scheme, and that chance evaporates. This is as critical game to lose as there was one during the tank. Perhaps more so, because now momentum is building to fire Glenn and maybe, just maybe have some hope for next season.
If Buffalo loses, they are the 7 seed no matter what. I think it would be very stupid to rest your starters and risk losing to being the 7 seed. 7 seed is the worst place to be. It gives you 0% chance of ever hosting a playoff game. 5 or 6 seed you still have a chance depending on upsets. Also 7 seed means even if you win the wild card game you are playing at the no. 1 seed in the divisional, the team that got a bye week and is rested.
The game is at 4:25. The Bills will more than likely have NOTHING to play for at that time, all the seeding will likely be decided.
incorrect. The Chargers play Denver at 4;25 as well so seeding will not already be decided. Thats a big game for seeding for everyone
Yeah, but the key is the 5th seed, since there is 1 weak division winner, and it will be decided. 6 or 7, I don't know, I think they rest starters. If at least they put Houston at 4:25 where you could go against Pitt/Ravens winner, who is weaker... But Jax/NE, pick your poison. Maybe NE is even better as they won there. Anyway, I am pretty certain they will rest their starters unfortunately. And the odds indicate that too. Only -7 now. If they were expected to play their starters would be -14 or more.
the odds are meaningless. I would be shocked if they full on rest their starters. They might rest a guy or two who is already questionable with injury and they might pull their starters in the 2nd half once they have a lead. But they would be dumb to play their backups and risk getting the 7 seed
I'm not at all concerned that the Jets will win. The only way they could win is if the Bills treat the Jets like the proverbial mentally disabled child you see in videos, where the other team pretends to miss tackles and the kid runs for a TD. And everyone is happy and teary-eyed. The Jets are the mentally disabled child of the NFL.
6 vs 7 can only come into picture in AFC Championship game, assuming they and the Chargers get there. Before that they need to win two on the road. And to do that you need healthy and rested players. Everyone is banged up now and you do not want a new injury. That is way more important than 6 vs 7. I highly doubt if the starters ever come out, they will play long. If they play for a half it may be enough to decide the game right there, but I don't even know if it will be a half, could be like a preseason, a series or two if at all. But we'll see.
