If they do fire Glenn, the job already is viewed as a career killer. Who would take this job? Especially if Woody backdoors Glenn by reaching out via backchannels. What successful HC would put his legacy on the line to work for Woody Johnson?
For better or worse I think the Jets will stick with Glenn for another year, which is why I really don't want to see a QB drafted in the first 2 rounds. I think they need to earn that and they haven't even earned a fullback. Trade back or take an elite player at other impact positions early (WR, S) and take a passer in the middle rounds if someone noteworthy falls. The Jets need an actual team in place when they draft a QB early. The last time they did that it was suck-ass Sanchez and they went to the conference championship twice.
Minshew has a torn ACL. Raiders are fully capable of beating the Chiefs the last week of the season. Im sure Chiefs dont mind tanking and preventing the Raiders either. Please Jets just lose out.
Now is the time to go after a new coach and staff. The haul of picks we have should help lure some one. Not sure it outweighs the fact they would be working for woody though
Who would take the NYJ HC gig at this point? Rex Ryan would be in but you gotta be crazy to want this job.
Yes, agreed....I saw Zach Wilson after he was mentioned here and I thought this place was being populated by escapees from Belevue. I didn't like what I saw and regrettably I was spot-on. I'll be watching Indy vs. 'Bama....let's see what Mendoza can do against an OK 'Bama defense. Not great, but OK.
Have 4 first rounders in 2 years would be the only draw I could see. Other than that…I agree, no one would want to come here
The coach despises Shedeur for god knows what reason but he’s worth being given a look next year for the Browns. I could see that cheap ass owner punting on drafting a QB especially with Watson coming back on top of that. It’s a 2 QB race at best in my mind.
Dont overthink it guys. Let the cards fall where they may. Lets just hope we Cook ourselves to two more losses
Didn't the GM pick Shedeur? There are a couple Ohio State guys at the top of the draft they may want and get Shedeur help. Taking another QB so fast is not a good look. But Browns do dumb shit. I think their coach is fired for sure
Credit where due: they did show some signs of life even though they lost. Let's hope your guy Carroll can finally win a game next week against the Giants. Maybe there is hope there after all.
The truth is, we just don't know. QB position is too difficult to evaluate. Even former NFL QBs who watch the film regularly get it wrong most of the time. But statistically speaking a QB selected high in the 1st round does have a decent chance to at least lead his team to the play-offs and these two guys are projected top of the draft but pretty much every reputable publication. I do wish we get one of them, particularly Moore, and then hope he is a good one. One thing I am worried about if we do get one - is having Glenn, Tanner, and the RB, who is our QB coach, to develop them. I know Fields was bad for us and I had hopes for him, but objectively he was never this bad, even as a rookie. This was the worst Fields ever. Tyrod also sucked and of course Cook. And every QB London worked with before also sucked or got worse. Who is supposed to develop the QB we draft? Tanner? But under him Fields got worse too. Honestly, it is so clear to me that we have to get rid of Glenn THIS YEAR and hire an offensive coach.
