If Woody goes back to his old ways and gets involved all bets are off. Our only hope he finally let’s go and allows Moog to run it properly.

check him out tonight against Bama

I’ve kinda dismissed him myself but I’m gonna give him another look. I know he has a quick release and a QB will need that here

He never should’ve came back in 13 days after having hand surgery to play in the red river shootout. He plummeted his stock. But I really like that he did it. Guy wanted to fucking play.

His grit reminds me a lot of Baker. His throwing motion is kind of shitty but it looks like Philip Rivers and that worked just fine.

I believe Oklahoma’s offensive line has been garbage all year so that plays into shitty QB play.

The kid is a gamer and has a really live arm. I don’t love his throwing motion but it’s effortless for him. The zip he has and his ability to step up and move the chains with his feet is special. He throws an incredible tight spiral and has good timing and accuracy.

Well Mateer is kicking some ass tonight

I’m impressed but I worry he’s gonna get a lot of passes batted down in the NFL

Doesn’t he throw like a young Philip Rivers?

yeah he does but Rivers is 6’5 and he’s only 6’1 (allegedly)

So far he has impressed me. Call me crazy but he reminds me a lot of Baker with his toughness and quick release

His athletic ability creates clean passing lanes. The kid is a stud

Hard to blame Mateer for throwing the 40 yard bomb (although it was to his 240 pound running back) but man, if he ran he had a 20 yard gain and Oklahoma is probably heading into half 21-7 at worst.

I gave up on Mateer early in the season shortly before I gave up on football this year but I remember being super impressed with his firework

I'd take Mariota over Burrow. Availability is key..

Actually, I said it.. If you want a practical application, AVT comes to mind. Great player but always finds his way to the IR list. Value to the Jets? minimal.

Burrow hasn’t missed enough games to prefer Mariota over him, sorry. Burrow went to a SB. Mariota went to the playoffs once.

Mariota is hurt just as much if not more. Knee issues, broken back, broken leg, broken ribs, concussions. All in his NFL career

Burrow has missed 20 games since his SB appearance. 12 over the last 2 years. His availability is what should be the measure. Are we talking a 1 year placeholder or a full time starter for the foreseeable future?
