This is another MUST LOSE game. This Jets team is worthy of a top 3 pick, but as usual they will probably knock themselves out of the top 10 with a win today.
I will be home in my Jammie’s sipping a single malt and laughing all the way through to the half if don’t pass out earlier. In New Orleans I suspect there will be some celebration after crushing the absurd Jets team. I’m French why do you think I have this outrageous accent you silly eeenglish king! I Farght in your general direction! Your Mother was a Hamster and your father smelled of Elderberries!
Keep in mind the Jets only play in New Orleans every 8 years. So they have lost only twice there since the 2001 game.
Yes it was. The Yankees came within 2 outs of winning 4 WS in a row and it would have been the first time that happened in MLB since they won 5 straight 1949-53….
The truth is if the Jets really really want Mendoza they can simply trade up. 4 wins (I definitely don’t see them winning the last 2 games) doesnt necessarily make or break their draft philosophy. They do one of two things. Trade away 2 of those first round picks - not counting the one they end up with at the top of ‘26 so 3 for 1 - and one or two lower ones or just stay put and rebuild the defense and scout a QB for ‘27. Whatever Mugey decides is going to be a very calculated decision because his job hinges on it ….
If this useless turd of a team trades that much draft capital for a flippin' middling QB, like Mendoza, I'm out. I'll have to shut the fandom down for a while. Just because he won the heisman because he's the best of a shitty crop, doesn't move the needle for me.
The fanbase is split down the middle on that view….what you’re saying is one view and the other is Mendoza is a possible franchise QB and now you take your shot … It’s going to be an interesting offseason and one thing to keep in mind is with all these pre mocks drafts showing the Jets trading up for Mendoza how much of this is a possible smoke screen for what they really plan on doing? The defense is God awful and needs almost a complete rebuild. It’s going to be hard to do that trading away some of those high picks.
If Mendoza is somehow there when the Jets are picking, you have to take him. Trading up is another story; better to take Dante Moore than give up three first rounders for Mendoza.
Agreed!! I’ve been on record, along with most, if either of these QB’s fall to us then by all means you draft one of them. That’s about as no brainier a decision as it gets. Then they use that considerable draft capital/Cap room to build a quality team around the young QB. NO trading up! Where the debate opens up is what to do with that lower 1st (Indy pick) if the top 2 QB’s are gone. You don’t “reach” at pick 4 or 5 but down between the 10 - 20’s…? I guess there are a few possibilities…
The Jets don't seem to understand identity. I do believe they'll end up trading Garrett too now that he's been shut down for the rest of the season. That wasn't a season ending injury. I believe they don't want to risk hurting his trade value.
I'm going with the Saints. This is a difficult game to pick yes I can envision the Jets winning this one but why would I pick them to win on the road when they haven't been able to stop a nosebleed on defense the past couple of weeks and the offense has sucked for much of the season?
Were I in New Orleans, I would wear my colors to Antoine's have a plate of Oysters Rockefeller and Pompano en Croute perhaps wander over to Court of the Two Sisters for some Bananas Foster. Then maybe a Sazerac Cocktail or two at Mr. B's. Then float around the French Quarter...
This is why we originally wanted to go, plus all the music. One of my favorite cities in the world minus bourbon street. Thank god we didn’t. Jets would have ruined our good time.
As long as the Jets lose today, I'm hoping Cook lights it up in a losing effort. Having my cake and eating it!
