Unfortunately, you hear it from a large portion of the fanbase too. Five years from now, there will be people on this message board telling us how Mendoza (on the 11-6 playoff Raiders) sucks just as bad as Pavia (on the 5-12 Jets), so it's no big deal that we won meaningless games and took ourselves out of the #1 overall pick (again).
You realize that’s a parody account that joined Twitter a year ago, right? His top pinned tweet says the Jets are expected to check in on Patrick Mahomes availability.
That explains it. I was wondering how anyone could have faith in Carroll and the Raiders at this point after the worst record in the NFL, 8 straight losses, and getting worse coming off 0:31 embarrassing ass whooping that makes Jets trouncing to the Jags look respectable. Let's call spade a spade here though. Carroll may be the only coach hire in the cycle who is even WORSE than Glenn. And he actually has an OK QB, and still won less than Glenn, who is having historically bad season. Let that sink in. And Vrabel wasn't an option unfortunately as the Jets did want him but he picked Patriots, and McCarthy wasn't hired by ANYONE in spite of being fully available, so can't comment on that one. But Carroll I think we can't comment on - he was the absolute worst coaching hire in this cycle. So, I understand we agree Glenn is bad and we shouldn't have hired him, but it's a bit ironic though that you wanted the ONLY guy who is actually worse!!! Not sure claiming you were right all along is appropriate in this case
Interesting about Carroll…my wife is a HUGE Raiders fan (we actually were at the Philly 31-0 trouncing, sitting in 20 degree weather to watch that) and when he was hired I was like…oh you must be happy, he’s a great coach. And just like a jaded Jets fan, she was like oh you don’t know the Raiders…he will suck and they will fuck it up She was right
Not Jets related, but the Dolphins just benched Tua and can't cut him without taking on MASSIVE cap hits the next two years. Sometimes its way better to completely whiff on a QB than it is to draft a mediocre one. Dolphins are finding that out now and I have a feeling the Jags will at some point with Lawrence.
they are starting 7th rounder Quinn Ewers instead of Zach Wilson. What a gift to the Patriots. Pats don't even need to win sunday against Baltimore as long as they take care of business against Jets and Miami. And they could face undrafted QB and 7th rounder back to back in those games. Jeez, just give them the division. Why can't we ever get luck like that? -- I hope NE and Buffalo both have early exits so I'm hoping for a scenario where NE gets Houston and Buffalo has to go on the road to Baltimore who sneaks in. Tough matchups for both, they would lose
I know it's not real but I absolutely feel like the football gods exist. No other explanation for how the Pats go from Brady, to shit for a cup of coffee, and right back to elite with a QB for the next 15 years. And then tack on the little things like what you pointed out. I guess the silver lining is they'll have to try against us next week so it's good for the tank?
This just reminds me of the Curtis Painter game in 2009. As I recall, the Colts sat Peyton at halftime and put in Curtis Painter, at which point the Jets took over the game. That's pretty much it for Jets luck though What seems to be brewing in New England right now though is just cruel if you're a Jets fan...
So there are 2 AFCE teams going to make noise in the playoffs and the Jets are one of the worst teams in the league. It must be Wednesday.
I don’t think that what Maye and the Patriots are doing is very sustainable. Maye’s having what seems like one of the most prolific seasons ever throwing the ball down field. He connects on everything 20+ yards. He also gets hit and sacked a ton although to his credit, he doesn’t take big devastating hits. They also have one of the easiest schedules in the league. I expect some regression next year.
