Meh. Our corner room isn't terrible but would use more depth. Ideally someone to challenge the #2 spot. The top 3 guys have been decent. After that, possibly...
LB Jacob Rodriguez Texas Tech, round 3 Winner of the award for the nation's very best collegiate defender. Heart and soul of the best defense in college football that will fall in the draft just because he will run a 4.7 in his underwear instead of a 4.5 lol also he has a bad ass mustache. A real man whose wife flies blackhawk helicopters. lets get him here
I have no idea why Aaron Glenn is living ex GM Douglas' dream that college safety Sherwood can play NFL LB, and that college LB McDonald can play NFL DE. Both gets absolutely abused by NFL offensive lineman. I can't remember the jets run defense being this pathetic (and that's the word). The jets must get bigger on the DL and at LB. Sherwood looks like a skinny scarecrow out there soaking up $15M a year, and McDonald gets blown off the line of scrimmage every run play. Yes, the jets have a lot of picks, but Douglas left the cupboard so bare we'll need all of them and more! In other words, DON'T. TRADE. UP. FOR A QB.
Said it before the year and haven't seen anything this NFL season that's convinced me otherwise: Jets have the worst group of LBs and S's in the NFL.
Problem is Sherwood's salary won't allow him to be cut so I think they're stuck with him unless Saleh or Ulbrich really wanted him, maybe they could trade him. I think they need at least 2, probably a fairly high draft pick and maybe a free agent.
Yeah, it'd be a 19 million dead cap hit, He was never a good LB to begin with, and we extend him for 45 million (30 guaranteed). That is a stumble in our rebuild.
I’d imagine the Jets target free agency to get a bigger time linebacker as one of their free agent signings. The top 3 available that aren’t old as dirt are probably: Nakobe Dean (Eagles) Devin Lloyd (Jaguars) Quay Walker (Packers) There are some consolation prizes out there though and I wouldn’t expect all 3 make it to free agency.
When we traded back into the first round in 2022, I thought for sure we were drafting Devin Lloyd. I'm not sure I believe he'll hit FA.
Maybe not but they declined his 5th year option. I’m not sure how much he bangs inside the tackles but he’s obviously a good coverage backer. I like Christian Harris from the Texans. Missed most of 2024 and has been jumped on the depth chart by the guy with 4 names and the guy with 4 apostrophes in his name.
Can't they move him to safety and special team?. He looks like a CB out there playing LB. Can't the jets see that?
The dude's ballin' and they love him hear.... I'd be surprised he leaves JAX unless he wants a Brinks truck
