I disagree with you on Breece. I should have elaborated a bit better. When I said 2 or 3 good years left I meant elite years. He's only 24 so I'd give him more like 5 or 6 productive years. That's a better way to say it. There are so many holes on the team, let's leave RB alone, resign him and we can use all those resources on the rest of the team. Definitely agree on the FA signings, though. Value is the word of the day.

Completely forgot about the having to spend a certain percentage of the cap. I still say value, value, value. It DOES seem like Moogs has that "eye" so value should be maximized. One offseason does not a GM make but the arrow is up instead of sideways or down. I really have no idea, at the moment, which FA's of any worth are coming free this upcoming offseason but I hope the team spends wisely. If we DO find that QB, it will only take 3 years before all that money is gone...wrapped up in one player. My opinions of how much they are paying a few of these position groups, QB/WR/DT, are a different topic altogether but some parity needs to be forced. They need to start spreading the wealth a bit better. All you have to do is take a gander in Cincinnati to finally come to the realization that, no, a FQB is NOT going to immediately park your team in a Super Bowl. There are 21 other players and wrapping $2 or 300 million in one guy is not just stupid, it's bad business sense. Pretty damn sure Cleveland would like EVERY dime back from Watson. Dumbest deal ever concocted in professional sports. Not only did it fuck the Browns for at least a decade but it impacted the "value" at QB across the board. About HALF are worth the kind of scratch they're making. Anyone actually feel Brock Purdy is worth $230 million? I don't. Ok...I started rambling...sorry!

    Once and they didn't win

You'd think, with the way we all talk, the Bengals should be perennial locks, yes? I mean if you have Joe Burrow, Jamarr Chase and Tee Higgens, they should be in the SB hunt every year, with the record to match. Even with Burrow, they are one of the WORST starting a season teams I've ever seen. It's like they don't turn on the "juice" until they are down 4 or 5 losses. Interesting if you think about it.

I agree, mostly that we wouldn't be better off but that's just me having no confidence in the Jets. The Bengals going into the season typically are expected to be contenders, their biggest issue isn't the players you mentioned it's the Defense and OL that have been epically bad for years. I do think that with a solid off-season and draft with Burrow we should be contenders, our defense needs help but Burrow would have the best OL he's ever played with.

That's true. This would be the best O-Line AND defense he's ever had. Which is sad considering how bad our defense looks right now. The reason he has no defense, though, is $. I know the Bengals traditionally aren't a huge spending team but isn't something like $300 million plus wrapped in those 3 players alone? It's why they can't lock the only quality D-player they got in Hendrickson. Instead he's on a one year at almost $30 million and has to be gone after the season that defense is putting together.

Still, I'd take Burrow in a fast minute at the right price. You know, much like you said about no confidence, it's the reason I say don't throw the kitchen sink at a trade like that, 2 1st round picks is more than enough. It's because, even with Burrow, I just feel they'd figure out a way to shit it up. Totally defeatist attitude, I know, but, unfortunately, it's where I'm at. I've given thought about "switching" teams but I still keep coming back due to some sense of unrequited warped loyalty. I'll always be Green and White. Wish our useless shit stain of an owner had one TENTH the love for this team as half the fans... Crazy...
