I think way too much is being made of this whole coaching staff developing a QB thing. We all thought Daboll was the great mind behind helping Josh Allen meanwhile he’s thrived under 3-4 different coordinators and Daboll is a shitty head coach. Lamar’s been successful under multiple coordinators and his head coach is a special teams guy. Dak’s on his 3rd head coach/coordinator combination and he’s been good with all of them. Baker’s on his 3rd coordinator in 3 years with a defensive head coach who we all trashed and he’s been good with all of them. The infrastructure of players and an offensive system needs to be in place. I think great players are going to be great regardless of the coach as long as they work hard. Also - this London guy has been a QB coach since 2021. It’s not like he’s never coached QB’s before so that’s also overstated. For what it’s worth I tend to think Sellers goes back to school whether that’s SC or he goes and secures a huge bag with a transfer.
Richardson is like Allen, Sellers, Newton and others with big bodies that can throw and run. Richardson doesn't have it between the ears though, clearly his issues in this league have been with his maturity and teachability more than anything. Sellers is mature and hard working
Ive seen you make that point and Ive tried to block it out of my mind lol. But yeah if he stays in school and transfers to somewhere like Miami with 5 star athletes everywhere in the ACC he will be the number 1 pick in 2027 for sure
The argument I’ve seen for these guys coming out this year is that next year probably has way more competition. Julian Sayin, CJ Bailey, Arch (yuck), Lagway, Marcel Reed, CJ Carr, Leavitt, etc. are all probably coming out. So if Sellers thinks he can get a first round grade why wouldn’t he declare this year and avoid all that competition? There is great appeal to staying longer with all the money being thrown around.
he turned down $8 million from Auburn to come back to SC this year but 2 years in a row will be tough for any man to turn down now you got LSU, Auburn, Florida, Penn State, UCLA all looking to play $$$$
The Giants just did an absolutely brilliant tank job. Basically had the game won, up by 10 in the 4th. but allowed Detroit to cut to 3. Then marched all the way down to their 4 yard line with 1st down there, and did simply a remarkable job to come out with 0 points and plenty of time on the clock. Didn't even kick to make them go full field but instead threw away the ball on 4th down. Detroit then only needs a 3 instead of a TD, ties the game, and wins in OT. instead of getting dropped, still have #2 pick in the draft. Just an exemplary tanking job, no other way to say it.
Glenn’s decision today to go on 4th and 2 at that point struck me as kind of strange in itself. The Jets were up and playing pretty well against a wobbly Ravens team…..not saying he tanked but it was just …strange.
Strange is a kind word for an otherwise horrible decision for a team that is working their asses off.
The 4th down is the kind of decision that you make when you're down by multiple scores and the game is starting to get away from you. It's not the decision you make when you're in the game and your defense is playing well and you've generally been winning the battle of field position. Yet another terrible coaching blunder in a season that has been just full of them.
Jets hanging in there at the #2 spot so we can be thankful for the loss today. Glenn's fck ups might not have been so bad after all..
I was very concerned we might win at halftime. Thank god we were the same old Jets in the second half.
They'll help us stay near the top of the draft, sure. His inability to even handle the easy in-game decisions doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that he'll do well with all of these draft picks he's been given.
People that still believe that there is an intentional tanking based are day dreaming, We might be there due to CS incompetence, but that is not what I want this team to stand for. Otherwise the draft will be wasted.
I will say this again, the fact that some of the decisions Glenn is making, make hard core fans think we are actually tanking on purpose is all we need to know about him. He is here to stay regardless though, so I do hope he fixes this somehow, but our offense was not doing great and defense was, it was a possession type of game, this 4th and 2 call just felt so out of touch, complete lack of feel for the game. It did help the tank though, @Cman69, no argument there.
He won't. These are mistakes that people at lower levels of football don't make. The fact they're being made by a HC of an NFL team is just astounding.
At that moment my words weren’t very kind ..but it was so perplexing you really have to wonder if it’s a tank job ... there’s no reason they couldn’t have won that game by playing the field position battle. That play call completely changed the momentum.
And there lies the problem. Even if he was really tanking who’s to say he can win when or if he’s given a good team? I know it’s still early in his regime but AG is not exactly installing confidence as a HC.
