No. He has absolutely no obligation to ask the coach what he can write. Does a financial writer need to ask Elon Musk if he can write that his new robots are not getting the job done? Does a political writer need to check in with a candidate before writing who's leading in the polls? Do food or theater critics need to give chefs and producers a shot at getting better before panning the offerings? Of course not! Why is sports any different?

"Bad news", does it actually matter?

If it wasn't for bad news, we'd have no news at all.

Anybody besides me thinks that bringing GW back this season is a complete waste and unecessary? Might as well let GW heal up completely and bring him back for TC in '26.

Yeah. I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't return

Add me to the list. There is zero need to have GW out there getting his head knocked off. Heal up and PRAY there's a real QB under center to throw to him in 2026.

Wow, I HATE the fact that, yet again, we're in this position. So tired of our season being over by Halloween. <sigh>

By Halloween? I wish. This time it was over in September, exactly 3 weeks and 1 day after it started.

New regime, lots of draft picks, lots of cap room, there is a reason we aren't enthusiastic at all. Perhaps it is just built up frustration and lack of trust in the organization but I think there is something more nefarious going on here.

Yep, I flew to NY in September with my family to see the game against Buffalo. Lots of money for premium tickets, surrounded by Buffalo fans 4:1, only to be handed with a dismal performance on the field by Fields and the D to boot. It was an awakening that mortified me, and felt nothing but sympathy for the many loyal season ticket holders that pay a fortune to be treated like crap from the owners on down. Season died in mid September, realizing that Fields was not the answer, with a HC that still has not accepted that.

Right? You would think we would be very hopeful with a new GM, new staff, and tons of picks

    But we all know better

This team has fucked us every single time, mostly because Woody is inept and always makes the wrong hires, and so far, while we’ve seen some nice things from Mougey, we haven’t seen much at all from AG, and based on his background being similar to all the other scrubs we’ve hired, chances are he won’t do any better than any of them did…

We all know it in our bones

We DO know it. I know it may not seem like it but I’m generally a positive person but this team, as far as football goes, has systematically destroyed that over time. Until that changes, I will continue to view the ENTIRE operation as useless and a joke. And, I’m so certain they will fuck this up, I’d put $1,000 down that they do NOT make the playoffs in the next FIVE years. Sad but true…
