In any other circumstance, this would be the clearest upset circumstance ever. If the Jets had even a representative team - say the 20th best team in the NFL - I would have been picking the upset in this game. With this Jets incarnation, they have basically robbed me of any way to feel hope about the team. Even thought we have a 2-game winning streak, I'm like Brook!. I can't muster up hope for the Jets. Best I can hope for is that the Patsies choke it away.
No snow in Mass. It wasn't even that cold, mainly it rained. I do think that practicing in weather helps when playing in weather. Indoor dome teams rarely win on the road playing in cold weather. This has been the case for 30 years. There has to be some truth in that. I think bad teams have unfocused practices. Bad coaches permit snowball fights when they have no time. I don't think Vrabel is going to let his team get away with that sort of behavior for more than five minutes flat, given that it's a short week. He doesn't seem like the kind of coach who is going to let his team waste days.
Vegas and the media have really turned this into yhe David vs. Goliath matchup that it’s not. The Patriots just beat their second winning team last week. Nice win on the road but the Buccs are missing a ton on offense and it’s been alluded to that Baker has a bad oblique injury. They lost to the Raiders & Steelers at home. They beat the Dolphins, Saints, and Falcons by one score in addition to the Bills and Buccs by one score. Maye’s fun to watch. He throws the ball down the field. But this isn’t the greatest show on turf. The Raiders just played the Broncos (8-2) at home to a 3 point game that was lost because of a blocked punt. Let’s see what happens.
Fields targeting Ruckert on a critical 4th down matched up against a corner on a route that’s all about speed and leverage is the epitome of why he sucks.
Easily the most dreadful quarterback I’ve ever seen in all of my years of being a Jets fan. There’s absolutely no way he can take the field again for us unless Tyrod gets hurt. And if Glenn trots him out there next week I lose a ton of faith in him. Bad enough he wasn’t benched halfway through this game. Not saying we would have won but we absolutely would have been playing down to the final buzzer.
FQB, more WR's, and few better on defense and we'd be competitive. now and in 2026. Crystal clear Fields is not the answer. This game was winnable with a FQB.
We watch the league happen around us while Woody Johnson drains us of our life essence like catatonic pod people.
I mean if there’s a silver lining here it’s that Hall is still very very good and we had receivers open all night. The bad news is they either dropped the ball or the worst quarterback I’ve ever seen play for my team couldn’t get the ball to them. Engstrand is not an issue and is probably part of the solution.
All four guys on Jets PostGame on SNY are absolutely savaging Fields, and even more savaging Glenn for sticking with Fields and refusing to hold him accountable for his pathetic play.
Agreed. I will say that on the Fields grounding play, there were 3 receivers all streaking deep and one underneath guy well covered. That looked like a bad play to me. But yeah better QB and WR play and things are completely different And the horrifying thing is, this wasn't even a top 3 worst game for Fields...
I think that was a busted play. Correct me if I’m wrong but Fields audibled into that. Then we have two guys that just joined the team last week out there trying to adjust. I can’t fathom that was the design.
