To be fair he called himself out for that play. Not that it erases the mistake but at least he's not oblivious to the fact he fucked up like plenty of diva WRs would. I dunno where the "never breaks tackles" and "steps out of bounds" thing is coming from. I feel like he does that crap TOO much. Always trying to hit a homerun by juking a million times and then inevitably falling down whereas if he just ran straight he'd have gotten a few more yards. No doubt we need a true X guy (praying Mitchell can be decent at that) but that doesn't make Wilson any less great of an WR.

The guy jumped in front of him for INT, I think you are too harsh on GW. I don't think he didn't hassle, just tried to catch and was undercut.

There are plenty, some even want to shut him down for the year, which is not unreasonable at all. You seem to care too much about other opinions though in an effort to support yours. We just had a recurrence of the same injury the game he came back in a lost year. This is as much proof as there can be about being safe in this situation. And warning for the future as well. If you still don't get it, it's on you.

I think he's got the skill to be a 1 in an actual proper offense. Like with a QB that can throw and players around him who aren't rookies or practice squad players. He had a career year last year with Rodgers throwing and Adams across from him. I feel like that's not a coincidence.

    7 games before Davante:
    76 targets 46 receptions, 460 yards, 3 TD

    10 games with Davante:
    78 targets, 55 receptions, 644 yards, 4 TD

And that was with Rodgers force-feeding Adams to a fault. The numbers dip very very slightly (like decimals per game) but to me that says he doesn't shrink when another legit WR1 is across from him. Probably more top 15 in the league as opposed to top 10 like plenty of us thought but definitely upper echelon.

Said it in another thread but Wilson is basically at the top of the 2nd tier of NFL WRs. He's an elite #2 but isn't physical enough to be a true #1.

It's partly a height/weight thing and partly a style of play thing. Wilson is very much a finesse player. I agree with both @BrowningNagle and @BroadwayAaron that Wilson doesn't break tackles and simultaneously tries to do too much after the catch by juking one too many times rather than just running upfield. He leaves a few yards on the table extremely often.

He's a #1. He reminds me of Marvin Harrison.

These guys (OC & Fields) don't pass the ball anyway. Heal up at the same time hurry up.

Should the team continue to win games crazy thoughts could begin popping into the heads of this new regime.

So Rich Cimini reported this injury, and now during the press conference AG says to ask Rich for any injury updates. Asked multiple times and each time regarding injury updates did not reveal anything but said to ask Rich.

This is insane lol, it's been all over the twitterverse. He has no reason to be so combative, the reporters are just doing their job.

Very odd. It's almost like Cimini gave out false information regarding Jets injuries and this was Glenn's way of swinging back?

Or maybe there are leaks, he's not happy with? It's not really a good look, but protecting the feelings of beat writers is something I honestly do not give a flying fuck about as they do not have the same respect.

Not that I'm saying Glenn's behavior is right or wrong, it's probably more wrong... but when this happens the media starts to circle the wagons while simultaneously acting like victims. I like that less.

I actually had no problem with AG saying to ask Rich. He doesn't like leaks and wants reports like this to be verified with him. I like Dick Chimney and even listen to his podcast but with all due respect to him, shouldn't he have asked AG for comment before reporting? Either way I have no issues with Glenn here.

He definitely doesn't need to ask Glenn before breaking a story, that's just silly. They don't work for Glenn and the Jets, they work for their own outlets that pay them when people read these articles so he will absolutely and rightfully so break news before asking Glenn. It may not have even come from the organization, probably a relative or agent leaked it, Glenn is just a blowhard that wants to control every narrative.

Maybe we missed the real story here and Glenn is pissed at Garrett Wilson for talking to Cimini?

It would explain the “ask Rich” comments, a backhanded way of telling his receiver he didn’t like that he ran to the media

I agree though Cimini does not have to wait for anything from the Jets, he’s a journalist and he does not work for the Jets. I wish more reporters operated like Cimini instead of being a mouthpiece for the team

Fair point about Dick Chimney not having to check with the Jets (though I still don't think it would have been a terrible move to at least to attempt to confirm the info with the official source), but If there is one thing that we can say for sure, none of these reporters are mouthpieces for the team. If anything, it's the other way around.

I blame Glenn for a lot of things, but things like handling of media or how he told Rodgers they are moving on I just don't think are it, he did fine there in my book. It was actually pretty funny how he asked them to call Rich.

Call it a season for GW. Not a single reason to bring him back. It's hands down the worst roster in football so the results won't be there but it's a great opportunity to let the young guys develop on the fly.

I was thinking it was more an early warning sign of the potential for injury prone concerns to start popping up going forward. I mean when we signed him to that early extension (that I was on record here of not generally liking) one of the more comforting aspects to me was that GW was at least a guy who had stayed relatively healthy all 3 years in the league. That he is immediately going to miss a lot of year one post doing that, and on re-occuring injury at that, is another seriously Jets'y thing to happen. Still firmly believe he should of been included in the midseason reset had a similar offer to one that was supposedly out there for Waddle been on the table. Even had it been Buffalo or NE.

Flip side imo this also isn't the death blow to the already bad with him offense people want to make it out to be. For fantasy football owners tired of sweating a need for those 4th quarter garbage time runs it's probably a move on blessing at that lol. GW is good #2 type WR getting a #1+ type target share as a pro, and that is an outlook approach that arguably hasn't been playing positive game script dividends for this team since we drafted him. Might not be the worst thing in the world to see this coaching room forced into viewing the "what you actually have" equation differently, while maybe presenting new step and surprise opportunity elsewhere that might of not been there in the past.
