I mean, you can't fire the HC for going 1-16 after THESE moves.

    I'm not so sure.

One thing I'm currently puzzling over is how much of this is really coming from Glenn? The early poor results there and the timing of this (pulling the trigger now as opposed to this past offseason) makes me half suspect this still might not be indictive of his job being safe beyond next this year.

I mean...that is a lot of stockpiled picks to try and entice a coach in the upcoming offseason who might not otherwise be interested in taking the gig here.

Sadly, i agree. And until we get rid of Glenn, we still haven’t hit rock bottom unfortunately. What a disaster this has become.

The rookie GM is impressing me.

The Jets may have hit a homerun with him.

It's still very early but so far, so good.

    We’ll see

It’s easy to trade away players and much harder to find great ones to replace them

Yes I like the return haul so I’m with you on that, but it won’t mean shit if he doesn’t use the picks well…

Solid first draft. It's early but that's how it looks. Historically the second round has been cursed for the Jets it appears he hit a homerun with Mason Taylor in that round in his first draft he's going to be a star.

The 'throw in' wr from the Sauce trade he may end up starting here? The Jets are incredibly thin at wr. Astute moves.

These earth shaking trades show he's putting in serious work.

I'm getting very excited about this GM and what the Jets are doing. Finally it appears they have a GM who knows what he's doing and he's the youngest GM in the league?

Ripping the team down to the studs gives Glenn cover.

How can he win without Quinnen and Sauce?

Now he is definitely getting a hall pass.

Irregardless of what we think, I knew that Glenn would get another year. Hopefully Wilks will walk the plank at season’s end.

The irony of the situation is simply this. If we finish with more wins after these trades, there is a lot to reevaluate. If our patched up CB and DL play at similar levels, or even better, there is plenty to be looked at especially why we didn’t do more with more. If our new group of WRs bring much needed support, our options increase even more. The key to this season is to push all the rookies hard and see what we really have. May I add, our rookie QB need to see anction soon and let them all ball together and play as a hard hitting team with nothing to loose.

I am not impressed with the rookie general manager yet, sure, the trades are nice but he has to do a good job drafting to impress me

Good enough that I had to spend close to a thousand posts over the last few years constantly arguing with a majority of people on the this board about whether it made any real sense to try and GFIN with a defacto GM Aaron Rodgers at QB.

The people that keep harping back to the surface level point are ignoring the fact that the last rebuild phase likely plays out and is viewed infinitely different had the Jets managed to secure even average QB play for the run of it.

The problem isn't the fact we try to rebuild from scratch. The problem is we can never do that and come out the other side with an offense that can actually score points on the regular and consistently win us football games.

We ain't ever going to get to where we want to be there by not at least trying to rebuild the right way from scratch. You do it till you get it right. No matter how many times it takes that will always be the answer.

Ehhhhh…. Mougey has made alot of very good moves. If he and Woody come to their senses that we need a proper offensive mentor to hopefully guide the young recruits we bring in I could see a scenario of one and done for Glenn. There’s not going to be a whole lot of players from this current team coming back that are married to Glenn as coach. It may be the exact time to do it. I hghly doubt they will, but I wouldn’t be terribly shocked if they did.

If trades were the prevailing "barometer" of GM success this guy's early returns would say Ozzie Newsome! However, these trades are all about the draft picks. Of which, sadly, are less certain. We have no way of knowing if any of these picks are going to amount to a pile of shit, rainbows or in between.

Defense has been shit this year with them so let's see what the young guys can do. Can't get much worse than 1-7.

Well, they must really like Azareah. Also, the D-line wasn't doing anything.
