If nothing else I'm loving this shift away from the typical and always fairly delusional "we are halfway in" bs. Still not sold we actually have the guys we need in place to capitalize on the opportunity but these next 2 drafts are certainly going to be fun and interesting. Capper to this day for me, and I know this will be super unpolular, would be fleecing a 1st for GW. Even if it had to be a trade with NE. Rather just keep and pay Hall the relative peanut money RBs get for anything less then a higher end projected 3rd.
Now Breece wants out, fuck it why not just get rid of all the young talent. Let's build this thing right hahahaha please, dumping all of your young talent is how you rebuild your roster. I mean we have plenty of picks to draft a DL, CB and RB now, oh wait...
This whole thing just fucking STINKS to me This is very much about AG coming in and failing to even meet the fucking low bar that JD/Saleh/Ulbrech left of 5 wins last year, so Mougey/AG get together and say shit, let’s tear this down so we can get another year and get off the hot seat. This was NOT the fucking plan that AG fed us about “winning now”…in fact it’s 100% about face. I call fucking bullshit.
I know I sound bitter and upset because I am and we all should be. This was not being sold as a rebuild before the season and because Glenn is completely inept at his job here we are. If this buys him a second season then he should be ashamed of himself. Fact is my son is 16 years old, I have watched every Jets game with him since he was 5. He has never got to hear me cheer for this team, never got to see a playoff game, never got to enjoy a winning season. He will leave for college in a couple years and I will NEVER get to watch a winning season with him now. This makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it, oh yeah Sauce is his favorite player, all I got was crying emojis. I fucking hate this team and Owner with every ounce of blood in my body yet will continue root for them till the day I die without ever seeing a super bowl while they deserve absolutely nothing for the shit product they put on the field week in and year out.
Are these moves okay? Sure. I mean, a one-win team with them can be a one-win team without them. They cleared some cap space, picked up draft picks, fine, fine, fine. But the Jets have been “rebuilding” for well over a decade now. So what exactly does another rebuild even mean at this point?
For many years I begged for the FO/CS to "blow it up". Well, they finally did it. Not that we were gonna win suddenly with this core group no matter who's coaching. We fooled ourselves into thinking we had enough talent when the reality was the opposite. These may not be the most popular moves, but it was the necessary moves. All we as fans can do is hope for the best and move on.
So you are mad he's not buying into that line of "we are in it" BS? This basically is Glenn going out and doing the the exact opposite of what we always end up doing. Making the anti "let's go get 41yo Aaron Rodgers!" reality acknowledgement this franchise (and fanbase) never seems capable of making. Embrace the rare moment possibility we actually end up doing things different for change. Since it will likely evaporate away soon enough
The only thing I would like to see them do differently is maybe try not sucking. If anyone watches Glenn's press conferences and thinks he is going to do something the right way you really should think a little deeper.
There is enough talent (or was, rather) on this team to at least be competent. The problem this year has, for the most part, not been on the field. It's been on the coaching and in the front office. And, now, we're doubling down on the biggest weakness in the organization (the HC/GM combo), which is the reason we're competing for the #1 overall pick, and not only allowing them to ship off the talent that we do (or did) have, but also making a commitment to them to establish the next 5-10 years of Jets football when they have in no way, shape, or form earned the right to do that.
This, couldn't agree more. It's not this year I am mad about but I feel like we just signed up for atleast 2 or 3 more years of this eye burning garbage we have been watching.
Yeah not for anything but this is at least a new approach. We have the assets to actually do this too.
We are going to do what with these picks? Giving Glenn any say in these decisions is like giving a set of professional brushes and a canvas to a guy that can't color in the lines with a crayon.
Completely agreed, although it's probably more like at least 5 since this regime will get to select a QB at the top of one of the next 2 drafts.
It is laughable anyone thinks the 2025 Jets team had talent. They had 5 win talent as evident by their over/under of 5.5 wins entering this season. Even that was inflating their actual talent. The 2023 Jets team had some talent, but the last 2 offseasons had seen talent leave the team. If any Jets fan was sold anything other than a 5 win season, then the Jets business side did an excellent job in selling you. That is the truth. The suckers are the fans. Good trades. But with every passing year I have started to care leas and less about the Jets. Wake me up when the Jets have a winning record and win games past November. Good thing for sports bars where I can watch real football.
Breece stays, I'm stunned. Especially since he let it leak that he wants out today after we solidified ourselves as a bottom 3-5 team for the next two years.
Breece will be out the door so fast when the season ends. Not trading him for even a 4th after what went down today is laughable.
Yeah if I’m Breece I’m not even considering a Jets contract offer…and this is coming from my point of view where I always say Money Talks
