This is a tough one but I don't think many teams turn down 2 first round picks for a CB. The key is obviously hitting on these picks but Sauce, while very good, did have his tackling issues and a notable lack of interceptions. The Jets are definitely going to notice his absence but we wasn't so great that he was untouchable if a team offered a lucrative deal. I hate to see young drafted talent go out the door but this could turn out well with the right draft strategy. The Jets have a lot of holes to fill and multiple high picks help a lot in that regard.
And we continue to wonder why we continue to suck, why our culture sucks, and why this fucking “rebuild” is just an endless cycle…we hit on so few draft picks, and we just trade them away and keep missing on more picks than we hit so we never get good, and we use the same stupid excuse of “well, we’re 1-7 with him, we could be 1-7 without him” This makes no sense to me…just the next fucking tear down without an actual rebuild…same shit, different year
Absolutely, best news I've heard all year, now hopefully they do well with the picks, don't know much about the WR we got as well
Well the WR dropped the ball at the 1 and cost them a win. He pulled a Corley. But yes I LOVE the trade as well.
Yup, and he probably will be the last one ever. There’s nothing more senseless than paying a shutdown CB on a disastrously bad team like ours. CB and DT are positions that you can backfill with mercenaries when you have a team in place, kind of exactly what IND is doing in this case. This is a very good trade for us, especially if it offloads his entire contract.
You forgot 2 games, Goff played like crap against a shitty Vikings team at home 2 days ago so yeah, he totally sucks!
Terrible move. You literally just gave the guy a contract extension and now you're shipping him away for 2 late firsts? Oh yay a 28th and 29th overall pick. That'll get us a game changer!!! Let's be real. The Jets are being run by morons at the highest levels. The front office knew in advance that this would be a shitty season, and they knew this when they gave Sauce the extension. It is clear that they are trying to tank, but damn... they look stupid and classless. Who is next? Garrett Wilson or Jermaine Johnson? Let's ditch all our top draft picks from the last 4 years, even people who decided to stay despite the team and franchise being so shitty!
Stupid? We just got two first round picks (which we admittedly will fuck up anyway) for a guy does pretty much nothing. Regardless of whether we fuck it up or not, this is a steal for the Jets.
I don't know, the way the Jets luck runs, they will win the Super Bowl this year so the Jets have a 32 overall and we get to watch Sauce celebrate as Super Bowl MVP.
If Mougey can draft, these moves will pay off by 2027. If he can't, well do we really care about the difference between going 5-12 vs. 2-15?
This is the absolute truth, yet a few still think we got taken. Utter BS only perceived by a few here.
