it is a monster return. With "very little talent" its an opportunity to change that. It is a blessing of an offer IMO And who cares if Mougey is here or not here, not sure of your point on that one. I root for the Jets not the Mougey family
Part of the problem with Sauce too is that he got away with being very handsy his first two years and officials haven’t let him get away with it the past two years. Some of them were bullshit flags but officials start looking for it when you get that reputation and it’s hard to shake.
Sauce is good but I don't feel like he's in the elite category. This is a full blown rebuild now. Quinnen next? Breece for a 3rd would be amazing
They scored 38 points man. How is that almost 50? And they ran all over us. The pass defense did much better than the Bears and Steelers pass defenses did and about the same as the Packers.
When I think of Sauce, I think of how he didn't like contact to a detrimental level, and when he did stick his nose in he got hurt a bunch. That comes to mind before his ability as a corner. I'll take this deal and run. Thanks for your service Sauce.
Yeah that may be and he isn’t the greatest of tacklers…sure But shit, you can still put him on the offenses’ WR1 and he can play. I also think coaching is part of the issue, but he is a proven talent at a premium position. Still. I love the two first rounders but I’m just pissed that we have all seen this movie before…we’ve heard the same fucking excuses about how a player isn’t all that, or how we’re losing anyway so why not, and I’m still waiting for the rebuild. I hated watching guys like Keyshawn, Abraham, Revis, all get traded away … we draft so poorly, it’d be nice to you know, actually build around our few good draft picks. I would bet that we’ll be looking for a new GM/HC before we see Sauce suck on his next team.
Sorry to ask again, but can anyone confirm that the Colts are picking up the entire Sauce Gardner contract (or are the rules different than other sports about contracts/trades)?
Never like to lose a "star player" but I'm in the camp of - Sauce is somewhat overrated. I don't think he is enough if a difference-maker to be considered untouchable and like others have said, Jets have been one of the worst teams in the league WITH him. It's all about what we do with the draft capital, obviously.
If they didn’t fuck up the Zach Wilson selection and a bunch of other subsequent moves, the Jamal Adams trade could’ve and should’ve been franchise altering. Adams sucked when he left but he was an elite safety for four years here. People like to forget how damn good he was because he wasn’t a free safety Ed Reed type. And in a way, that trade still has positive ripple effects.
AVT is another name that can be replaced as he's the Jets equivalent of Mitchell Robinson. I should have added those other two kids too.. Good callout!
Then this is a 100% no brainer. The Jets BEFORE the trade ranked 7th in the NFL in available salary. They just added 12.5 M to that number.
I'l keep saying the same thing: we traded proven top tier talent for a shot at trying to find top tier talent. That will never make sense to me and it rarely works unless you're the Bears stepping in shit.
