    100%

This is a bad bad sign to me

I get sticking up for your players, but you also have to send a message that this is unacceptable play

He is going to lose the team

I think Ryan is the Spirit of the (British) Isles. Except their planes don't look like bananas.

Anybody writing that much in a single post should be benched. Anyone writing that much without breaking it up into paragraphs should get released.

I did not know Fields game before he became a Jet.

    I wish I still didn't.

How bad could it be, Jets gave Justin Fields $30M in guarantees.

Fields isn't a good starter by any means, but the problems run a lot deeper than him. In terms of level, it's something like Darnold>Fields>Zach. But Glenn and the rest of the staff are in way over their heads and should be one and done.

The really shitty part of this season is the sinking feeling we're going to inexplicably run it back next year.

It's not that Glenn has been bad, it's how bad he's been. He has shown basically nothing that good coaches show. He's constantly overwhelmed both during games and when trying to explain things to the media. He has no idea what he's doing.

It shouldn't take two full seasons to realize this, but all reports indicate we're in for at least one more year of this.

Sadly, I agree. I really wanted AG to succeed. He should have chosen a better opportunity. He is in way over his head with this mess.

Jacoby Brissett went for 320 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 pick on the road last week. Just throwing that out there.

He would have been way in over his head anywhere. There's nothing he's done here that would suggest that it might have worked somewhere else.

My biggest fear is that Woody runs it all back next year, and the talk track (including media) is that we need continuity and we can’t keep changing coaches so often.

Nothing pisses me off more than continuity for continuity’s sake. Shit coaches don’t get better just by coaching longer. He is terrible…literally nothing but bullshit talk but man, he can’t inspire this team, and he looks WAY lost in game.

But Woody is Woody…if there is a clear right choice to make, he will not do it.

Yeah but he is not going to do that consistently. Brissett was the perfect stopgap in every team he played for, and successful coaches recognized that was all he was.

Yeah…it’s hard to sell a fanbase on the season if you’re going in with a guy like Brisset as your starter. They thought they could sell Fields as a young guy with upside, but anybody who’s watched him for any amount of time knew this would be worse.

How fucked up is it when I’m sitting here saying, man, I’d rather have Brisset starting

Because you are making decisions based on the future of the team rather than Madden scores and PR.

    Yeah. That's fucked up :)

I don't think the team is enough of a mess to justify this level of poor play. It's not the team is unfixable, it's just that he's not ready to be a head coach. Coaches have done more with way less; there are some pretty top notch defensive players we have who, in the past three years, performed WAY above what they are now. The difference is the coach. Glenn just doesn't have what it takes to run a team from the front. He was apparently an excellent defensive backs coach, did well as a defensive coordinator, but just doesn't have the rounded understanding of the entire game to be a head coach.

Glenn wasn't even a good DC, which makes the hire all the more confusing.

His defenses in Detroit ranked by opponent yards per play:

    30th
    32nd
    29th
    29th

This year so far, their first year without Glenn as DC:

    10th

Glenn was an awful DC in Detroit.

The Lions have been a hot, rising team over the past few years. The thought was probably that Glenn would bring some of the know how of what led to the Lions' success to the Jets. Everyone wanted a piece of that. Unfortunately, we're seeing more and more that successful team=/=good coordinators.
