I don’t think they’ll look at it with a big picture unfortunately, but they should.

Even if we don’t take a QB in the first round, I’d guess we take one in the second at the least. Do you want this coaching staff being involved in that?

Well it sure made me confused...

They should clean house and just bring in the whole Wu-Tang Clan.... Method Man as HC.. GZA the genius GM....can it be worse?

the direction where football is going...

What about Bill O’Brien? 52-48 as a NFL head coach with only one full losing season. He clearly wasn’t to blame for the franchise meltdown that Watson caused.

He helped Bryce Young develop and win a Heisman at Alabama. He took on the disaster at Penn State after the semi-death penalty and was 15-9 with very limited available scholarships. Not doing great at Boston College this year but the QB play has been solid his two years there.

I don’t know…he’d be at least an offensive guy but I don’t know how much of that Texans dismantling he had a say in…they were stupid to trade Hopkins and made a bunch of dumbass moves

maybe it happened against his will but I didn’t think so at the time

The story was that the organization was deliberately trying to separate Hopkins and Watson because of nefarious off the field shit going on.

I also wouldn’t give any available coach roster control so I’m merely looking at coaching ability. He didn’t have roster control until 2020 when the entire organization seemed to meltdown which I don’t really blame him for.

Coaches can’t really seem to handle that these days.

He reminds me a bit of the offensive Vrabel to be honest.

Just because you believe that doesn't make it true. You're just not that important; not even WFAN is.

O’Brien as offensive coordinator maybe but not as head coach

This is the move- O’Brien gets fired at BC, Belichick opts out at UNC, they both want to stick it to the Patriots- Kraft and Vrabel.

Belichick Jets HC and OBrien is his OC. Mayo as DC, another guy with an axe to grind against Kraft

    Big balls move.

the thing about Glenn being one and done, not only is that reckless in itself but it is shaping up to be a transformational year for coaching vacancies

So we'd be the team seeking its 4th coach in a little over 2 years, going against possible vacancies like Miami, Baltimore with Jackson? Buffalo with Josh Allen? Cincinnati with Joe Burrow? The Giants with Dart??

we wouldn't get anyone good in that landscape.

And in that situation everyone of the coaches you speculate could be fired are coaches now looking for jobs, and IMO good head coaches the Jets should consider. So the very scenario you propose includes an influx of head coaches in the market for new jobs.

not really, from that list you'd get McDaniel, Taylor, McDermott, Harbaugh, and Daboll. The only one that is good is Harbaugh and he will have his pick I doubt he's coming here. I like Taylor some. the others are coordinators only

Gotta say I'm really souring on Glenn. He's unraveling at the seams already.

Aaron Glenn got a little snippy with the media today when he was asked about Justin Fields not pushing the ball down the field: "That's for any quarterback, especially when you have man coverage to give a guy a chance. But I do know, if something bad happens, you guys are going to be bitching about that, about him.”

Stuff like this drives me crazy. Oh no! The media is "bitching" by asking you if you should replace a terrible QB? This is such loser mentality stuff and makes Glenn look really weak.

It’s generally not a big deal in my eyes to be a dick to the media. It’s probably easier on coaches if they’re not but it’s not like it’s ever really affected results with someone like Sirianni or even Belichick.

But Glenn doesn’t even seem like he makes sense half the time. That clip doesn’t make sense, regardless of the attitude. The clip where he’s wrong about the distance of the field goal at the end of the game or the “confusion” of a first down or not before the end of the half are really bad looks.

Yeah I think he's overwhelmed and trying to stay above water. We saw this with Saleh too but not nearly this quickly. He didn't start to neglect his facial hair until like year 3.

Was he Hack's QB mentor, the one that made him look good in his very early college career?

Harbaugh is definitely the best and most accomplished of the group but I’m not as down on the others as you, including McDaniels, who is with the next worst organization besides the Jets.

Ummm...folks, Harbaugh is going nowhere. Baltimore is basically starting a M*A*S*H unit on defense which is why they are so bad. Outside of one game this season, they've given up over 37 points to FIVE of the six teams they've played. You aren't going to win games like that even IF you have Jackson at QB. So, you can take him off the wish list. Besides, he was a Special Teams guy but leaned heavily on the defense side and I'm done with defensive HC's. I want the next Kyle Shanahan or don't even bother. I wouldn't give a bag of peanuts for any of the others. Not as HC anyway. ALL those guys need to go back to being the Coordinators first. They are all 1st time HC's and need TIME to reflect on what they did wrong so they don't become Josh McDaniels.

I'm sorry people, but, on the HC front, nothing looks good. NOTHING.
The post made me laugh but, in reality, I'd personally fly to NJ and knock Woody Johnson on his ass if he even WHIFFED bringing that waste of flesh Belichick here. All the last bunch of years has told me is that Tom Brady was THE NE Patriots. Not B.B. That loser's HC chops looks a lot more like Cleveland than NE. I want him no where near this dumpster fire, would be like pouring GAS on it.

2 things. First, coaches don't just go to teams that are plug and play. Most want to build the team their way, not just inherit a team. Second, neither Baltimore or Buffalo is going to be looking for a coach this year; neither Harbaugh or McDermott is going anywhere.
