Volpe’s fine dude. Fix his fucking rotator cuff in the offseason and give the kid one more season. He’s still only a 25 year old shortstop who can hit some homers and has a gold glove to his credit. He really needs to be hitting in front of Judge so he can get better pitches to hit. McMahon is a dreadful hitter who strikes out a ton. His OPS was 100+ points lower at all the NL West parks away from Colorado. They should try Gil on the pen. Imagine he only needs to throw an inning? He would be able to throw 100mph easily. Funny enough one of your right handed contact hitters out there is Andujar. No position though. Arraez is also a good fit but no position for him either.
I'd be fine with it they just can't be in the same lineup. One of Gil or Warren in the pen is intriguing. Neither of them can locate though.
Also makes no sense pinch hitting Rosario for McMahon that early in the game. I get it was a somewhat big spot but Rosario was overmatched off the bench instantly by the dreaded 90mph fastball.

Can Boone let these fucking relievers finish innings? Bringing Doval in for one out only to start the next is asinine. He has to lead the league in 2-out minimal threat bullpen changes. And the Rosario move for McMahon that early looks even dumber.
He took Doval out with 2 outs after I said that cause I just knew it was coming. He’s going to have to stretch one of the good relievers tonight to more than 3 outs.
The unfortunate thing is you can’t blame Boone for his two best starters totally smoking moose cock so he’s not gonna take the fall for blowing this series.
Volpe & Grisham both rung up on bad strike 3 calls out of the zone so far. Garbage strike zone so far.
Playing Goldschmidt still makes no sense even in a bullpen game where you’re trying to protect your lefties. Bullpen relievers in large part all throw hard and he might have the slowest bat in the lineup. He’s a better defender than Rice but you’re really not gaining a ton there. He’s not the gold glover he was.
Left right left right is pretty much a gamble innings are going to start with the side you want. I don't like yet strategy and it has been a negative tonight
Can’t completely kill Boone for bringing Devin Williams in since he’s the freshest but I think you want to bring a power pitcher into that spot looking for a strikeout or Cruz who is probably your most reliable post season pitcher. Also wouldn’t have hated seeing Bednar there.
