Not a dumb thread IMO. I actually had the same thought when I saw how much time was left because I absolutely knew there was no way this defense was going to hold up. But in real time, it was an unreal play by Mac and I absolutely believe he made the correct play. Man, it would've been so stellar had Mac strip sacked Baker to end it...
When McG scored I said in the game thread we scored too soon. Don't remember how many time-outs the Bucs had... but I knew Baker would get the 3 points needed with 1:45 on the clock and the was our D was playing.

It’s not that dumb of a thread. Teams routinely try to time how and when they score the potential winning points every week. If teams didn’t get the ball at the 35 every week with kickers they can make 60 yarders, we wouldn’t be discussing this. But that’s a reality. It’s just impossible to tell a guy with that wild adrenaline rush play to think about the scenario. Score the touchdown and let the coach worry about everything thereafter big fella.
