I wish we could get rid of our second pick, but I wouldnt be opposed to it. We have two seconds rounders, so we could always move back into the first round if we wanted someone.

Would SD take the 37th pick overall?

I would be willing to go as high as our lower 2nd rd pick, if that's too low for SD then tough. RB is a poisition that's not too difficult to find and you can always find mid-late rd gems.

So did Lamont. heck a couple of years ago Indy and Seattle couldn't get 1st rd picks for edge and Alexander- 2 proven big time backs.

Something about this deal gives me the YIPS big time. I'd rather the Jets keep their #1 and go defense with it, THEN draft a RB in rd. 2. I know that's a risk but building up our D has to come first.

I will lose my mind if trade any pick for this guy. I have faith in the FO to make smart draft choices. I will lose somefaith however if they trade a pick for an unproven back. Turner is nothing, not a franchise back, he is a guy that can take about half the load....the type of back that we already have too many of.

If they are going to trade that first round pick for an RB for god sakes make a run at Portis.

I dont think it is fair to say that Lamont is not the real deal anyway. The guy a very nice year in his first try at being an every down back and this past year he played on one of the most inept offenses in the history of the game.

He didn't have a good '05, he's been average at best and has looked nothing like the guy we saw backing up Curtis.

Not saying I believe this article, but I also wouldn't say I'd be shocked if it's true.

Remember, he's probably not going to get as big of a contract as a guy like Alexander or probably James did. Teams didn't want to give up an early pick and pay huge money.

I think Turner would cost an early pick but not get a huge deal. It would be like drafting him late in the first round, which wouldn't be a bad idea if he was in the draft imo.

i do not think micheal turner is worth a 1st round draft choice. even though it will be at #25, we should bring in our own players via the draft and coach them up in our system. i just feel like we would be getting ripped off because SD wouldn't be losing anything. whether or not turner is on their team next season does not really matter since they have LT. giving them a 1st rounder when james and alexander couldn't even get a 2nd rounder would be totally unfair to us. we should just draft micheal bush at #37 since he might be the steal of the draft when he turns out to be a TD machine.

Michael Turner is going to be a very good RB somewhere, however, he is not worth a 1st rd pick IMO.....the production will be there, but teams just don't trade 1st rd picks for rb's.....unproven ones at that. 1st round picks are usually reserved for great players at elite positions.....and IMO good rb's are too easy to find to warrant trading our #1 for Michael Turner. I would be happy with having him on the squad, but not happy with the compensation. I would be willing to trade our 2nd round pick though (Not Washington's that we aquired)
