I think if Fields plays like that every week, Jets will have a better season than I anticipated. I had very low expectations going in, and one good game won't necessarily change that. Teams are definitely going to sell out to stop the run going forward. Hopefully the much improved offensive line gives him time to make the throws. This is the kind of game we need to see the Jets winning going forward. They played great, and should have won. They gave it away doing stupid shit. Hopefully coaching remedies this as time goes on. Maybe they'll catch Buffalo overlooking the Jets after that ridiculous win on Sunday. I doubt it, but maybe lol.
He made the right choice. The gap closed up immediately after he threw it. Could he have gotten it? Maybe. Could he have gotten hurt? Yes. Was Wilson open? Yep. He made the right decision to pass it.
Even if Wilson holds on and gets the 1st down, it would be tough for the Jets to pull this one out. Assume an immediate timeout is called with 18 seconds left. They would still need 20 yards and an out of bounds play to set up the field goal kick.

Fields made the right play, which should have resulted in the 1st down. Do I think he could have gotten in with his legs? Maybe, he would have to get through three guys, but if any QB can do it, it's him. Still probably unlikely. GW was simply not aware of Ramsey being there, the pass was good enough where GW could have caught the ball and avoided Ramsey had he had awareness of him coming. But ... can't blame him on this play either, it's just one of these things. Fields did the right thing off broken pocket, but it just didn't go our way. Pitts got quite a few lucky breaks to pull out this win, which they really didn't deserve.
