Another great move that will continue to play despite being obviously incapable of performing at the required level of competence. I need to add him to my list.
He sucks… I kept saying all offseason that letting Reed go was a mistake by Mougey, and it didn’t take long to get proven right I don’t know what the fuck the defensive game plan was, but if it was “let’s play a soft zone and let receivers run free all day all over the feel and dare Rodgers to complete passes”, then yeah, great job. That was an atrocious job of coaching on D Combined with stupid decisions by AG like going for 2 in the first quarter, and then stupid shit like a return guy fumbling at a key time, and then of course, just plain old Jets luck with the opposing kicker making a career long 60 fucking yarder to take a late lead, then yeah, that’s what we are looking at Shocking that the best thing we can look at today is our offense…our D and our ST’s sucked today
Stephens was bad no doubt but the safeties were also horrendous. It set the tone early in the game when no 22 completely whiffed on a tackle that could’ve gotten the defense off the field on 3rd down 22 was bad all game
What’s scary is you know Pittsburgh is familiar with him and they wanted to target him all game. We played a good game but I believe an insane FG, poor Stephen’s play, and the fumble we lost was it. beat for long Td by 5 foot 9 WR Dropped int by falling down? Slipped on TD PI on long pass wooooff. Rough day for this kid.
It was obvious that he was targeted all day. How can you be make so much money and be that bad. You would believe he was a UDFA rookie player out there that never step a foot in an NFL game.
the crazy part its impossible to cut him 23 mil dead cap if we cut him, he has to play now and we better hope he gets better.
Not sure if AG, Wilks or even Stephens realizes it, but a giant bullseye just got painted on his back today. He's a marked man now and if this trend continues, Wilks will have to pull him off the field. Even playing that soft fckn zone (which looked a lot like the dreaded Prevent Defense}, didn't help him as he still got victimized.
Yeah after today for sure teams will not throw towards Sauce but directly at Stephens, you know as soon as Sean McDermott and Allen watch the tape they will be drooling and looking for matchups.
The only thing that makes Stephens bulletproof is his contract. Doesn't mean he'll get to be a liability every Sunday though as Wilks' zone scheme hasn't caught on yet. He'll be the primary target in our secondary until he proves he can actually cover someone. Perhaps turning his head around on pass plays might help him too.
