he was released by the superbowl champions though.

Roster spots are extremely tight when you have so much talent, draft picks are often released by good teams

they also have a different view on backup QBs. When other teams, like us, look to the future, we can make room for developmental QBs.

The Eagles are all in on this season, they need their backup QB to be someone who can win right away should something happen to their starter

Do you know him personally? One doesn’t have to root for him, but assbag is a bit much don’t you think? He’s 18-20 year old kid. I doubt very much he’s making these NIL decisions on his own. Even in the unlikely chance he is, not sure why he should be disparaged for trying to get the most he can within the current rules, unless of course, you’re a UT fan. Not everyone can be Zach Wilson with money literally sitting in the JetBlue wings if/when it all goes to shit.

I’m guessing Kyle McCord’s NIL deals were more honorable.

Yeah, you’d guess correctly on that.

If you are comparing him to Nico anyway, and I’m not sure why, we don’t have an either/or option here, one guy is available and the other isn’t

    I don’t know him personally.

Of course he’s not making NIL decisions on his own, his father is negotiating deals on his behalf.

He also has an attorney and an advisor they pay for

There were a ton of programs with a much larger war chest than UCLA that had unsettled QB spots when Nico decided to leave Tennessee.

Why didn’t Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, or Ole Miss show any interest?

Sometimes when it stinks, there’s probably shit around.

Yes he is too. but Nico isn’t little kid, he’s a grown man, it’s time to step up and be one.

He was the highest paid player on Tennessee’s roster when he held out and blew off his teammates for more money

He’s from Long Beach. According to the Assbag, he wanted to play in front of family and also felt Tino Sunser offense was better for his development. We shall see if the Assbag made the right decision.

I don’t doubt that report on Nico because I’ve heard some version of it for three years. I also don’t doubt he’s racking up wins on the UCLA practice field. Week One is here. Time for him to show it on Saturdays.

UT’s bigger issue this season isn’t replacing Nico, it’s replacing Dylan Sampson’s production. They’ve recruited the QB, OL and WR positions really well. RB not so much. They picked up an experienced starter to hold them until one of their young QBs is ready, but somehow the Heupel offense needs to find 1000+ yards on the ground, with not a lot of depth.

Oh ok. So he was homesick and it had nothing to do with money? If Ohio State wanted him and offered him $5 million he would’ve went to UCLA for $3 million?

For his salary, he could move the entire family to where ever he played or fly them out if he wanted to “play in front of them.” That’s a lame cop out and it’s even lamer that you’re acting like you buy it.

That story doesn’t track though, the transfer portal is wide open for everyone.

if he wanted a different offense he could’ve just entered it and found a new offense, he didn’t have to pull any tricks

it’d be different if he was locked into something at Tennessee, he wasn’t, the new college model is extremely favorable for player movement

Belichick was new at UNC with a NIL war chest and needing a Quarterback. He came out right away saying they weren’t interested

As with most things in life, there’s probably a multitude of reasons including and not limited to money. Remember, I brought him up in this thread as a bit of a NIL whore. I’m sure money played a factor as did being close home compared to other schools. Ya worry too much about that boy’s pockets. LOL

We’ll never know the full story, but my guess is he was homesick and figured a fat, new NIL deal would buy out that problem. Last thing on earth I want to be doing is defending Josh Heupel, but he’s still considered a young HC and just about every one of his QBs has been drafted, a couple he built out of thin air and turned into Heisman contenders. I can’t argue that Heupel’s offense has produced shitty pros, I’d only suggest that he has a knack for making shitty college players look like pros in the first place. Nico left UT for a UCLA coaching staff with almost no track record. He was either greedy or homesick. Anything else is manufactured spin.

I think we talked about this, no? Texas Tech the same thing. Piles of dough, a QB need, and no interest.

Because I think he was the second best qb prospect in the draft.

Strange reply, considering your previous post was this.

But yeah, you already said he was the 2nd best QB in the draft, I asked for some more meat on the bones but you have been unable to actually do that but prefer to repeat yourself inside 3 posts.

Don't give up your day job, an NFL scout you are not.
