Commanders released KJ Osborne. Another guy that would probably immediately be our WR2 unfortunately. Not subject to waivers, can sign anywhere as a free agent which probably also doesn’t vote well for us.
I see the trend in JD picks getting released…the crazy thing is that these are all young guys only with a couple years or one year on the team Goes to show how bad those picks were And yeah, Dulcich showed pretty well in his preseason games
Well it’s going to be fun to watch how we move … but also I’m sure that the ending roster today will not be the same as what we start the season with…I’m sure we’ll have other moves in the next few days as the dust settles on all of the releases and such But yeah, we need help at WR, TE, and QB backup I’m guessing we only carry Taylor on the 53 but we can do better behind him
https://x.com/slammysportcast/status/1960345327354966328?s=46 Bucs are waiving Trey Palmer. He ultimately was the odd man out in crowded WR room. After a solid rookie season in 2023 where he flashed big play ability, he’s been steadily pushed down the depth chart thanks to the Bucs investing high draft picks in the position w/ McMillan and Egbuka. He’s a 6-0, 192 lbs long arm former 5 star LSU recruit who runs a 4.33 (fastest time in the 2023 NFL combine). Low 4.3 guys don’t grow on trees. He fits this FO’s M.O. young vet who shown promise early coming off a down year (see Cisco, Stephens…etc.). The Jets secondary should be intimately familiar with Palmer,
Would glady take a flier on this kid. Don't think he ends up being better than Reynolds or Johnson but I'm in favor of trying out the young guys to build for the future.
When I saw him try to catch that pass in the last game like he had never been taught how to catch a pass, I gave up any hope for him. It was an easy catch and he tried to fashion some kind of basket with his arms rather than simply snatch it out of the air with his hands.
I just watched the video. He’s fast, displays excellent concentration, and catches the ball. Hopefully, he runs routes well, and/or can create space. Why not add him to the WR room?
He had 39 REC for 385 YDS w/ 3 TDs as a rookie. That’s comparable to what Josh Reynolds’s hast outputted for most of his 8 seasons in the league without the upside.
Here is a list of our drafted wide receivers after the first round since 1995 when I started following the team. its not a good list lol The only good ones who we drafted in 30 years were Cotch, Coles, Kerley, and Quincy Enunwa. Ever since that dropped TD I knew Corley's Jet career would be over. I won't even talk about our tight ends. Malachi Corley Devin Smith Denzel Mims Elijah Moore Stephen Hill Jalen Saunders ArDarius Stewart Chad Hansen Shaquelle Evans Charone Peake Chris Brazzell Alex Van Dyke Dedric Ward Windrell Hayes Harry Williams Chansi Stuckey Marcus Henry Scotty McKnight Jordan White
Man that is a damn awful disgusting list…and you’re right, our TE draft picks have been just as bad outside of a couple guys (well, can only really think of Keller right now, but maybe there are a couple others?) And that’s under different GMs too…just disgusting and a good sign of why our offense has sucked for years and years And then there are teams like the Steelers who can find pro bowl receivers in the fifth round…go figure Oh and yeah, I kinda figured that about Corley as well…that play still makes me angry…but there’s no room for stupid on the team. That was about the worst kind of unforced dumbass error I’ve seen
