Jakobi Meyers requesting a trade. Perfect fit next to GW. Can pay him his market value and when Garrett’s extension kicks in we’ll have an out. Go do it Moogs.

Hendon Hooker released by Detroit. Absolutely worth a flier and has familiarity with the staff/system.

Definitely a jersey sale that has more secondary value than the player wearing it.

I like it. Him or McCord, they are upgrades in QB depth

I don’t think McCord is a great fit with the offense we are running. They clearly value fit over anything else. I’d love to give him a shot though.

Amari Cooper to the Raiders. He’s mostly toast but would have been our WR2 by a mile.

Catching a football should be a measurable then.

Cooper is washed, I’m good on skipping that addition.

He’s definitely washed. He’d also definitely be our WR2.

That's one of the things that the article mentioned as a possibility. Did you miss that part? And the part where Glenn was quoted about Ruckert? Of course that could always be coachspeak.

Agreed, although if we don’t take him I’d give the benefit of the doubt since our staff is very familiar with what he brings, good or bad.

Not a good sign for Hooker to lose that backup job to Kyle Allen though. The entire league knows he’s garbage.

He probably connects a lot more on check downs than Hooker and the Lions figure they can still compete with someone like that if Goff goes down.

Giant cut Tommy cutlets. Have a terrible feeling he’s going to end up on the practice squad. Not even a question I would rather see what we have in Brady Cook over a guy that’s basically just a gimmick.

The real kick in the nuts is that a guy who would be our QB1 is barely going to be in uniform for the Giants the entire season.

@Brook! can we just make this the cutdown day and roster gymnastics thread?

Todays releases so far per Schefter:

    Carter Warren
    Eric Watts

Releasing Bernard-Converse according to Pelissero. Not a big shock but thought he had a chance.

Brandon Smith cut per Ryan Dunleavy of the Post. Was a long shot but I would have loved to keep him around just because we are going nowhere and he had a lot of stuff you love to see from a young player. Keeping Lazard over him is a botch.

As expected, Malachi Corley is a goner.

Giants cut TE Greg Dulcich. I’d absolutely ditch Ruckert for him.

Mildly surprised by Watts and JBC. Hope they, along with Brandon Smith, make it back to the practice squad. I bet they keep Skinner.
I think they're gonna end up with a lot of waiver adds though
