No way. Look, I understand they didn’t look like world beaters last night and that there are holes on the roster. But there is talent too. The OL for one is markedly improved over the last two seasons and that is going to be what dictates how this season rolls.

This is not a playoff team - too many holes and unknowns but If the Jets can avoid the injury bugaboo this team should be good enough to win at the very least 6-7 games maybe even more with a couple of good bounces. In fact I can see them winning opening day. Not saying they will but they certainly can.

R-E-L-A-X!!! It's the pre-season! Not sure what you all were expecting. Come game 1 they'll "turn it on" and the greatest RUN GAME in the HISTORY of the game will be unleased on the 2025 NFL!!! :D:D:D The Jets will tear through the AFCE like a hot butter knife through wet tissue paper!!! Bwwwaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa

Now that I have your attention, I must offload one of my "light" pieces of property and sell the Brooklyn Bridge. o_O:rolleyes::oops:

I haven't watched the Eagles game but, after reading the game thread I might pass. <sigh>

With all due respect. Time to relax a bit.
Las year the bitch was we are the kings of pre season, all full of hope under AR the savior. And then crap. This year we sucked in pre season, blah blah, blah, Same old Jets blah blah blah. Fact is, we have known since AR came there is a whole bunch of work and fixing that needs to be done, and will take TIME. NOTHING changes over night and certainly not in preseason after a handful of plays, we are a rework team in progress, with a lot to do on our way to six, may be 8 wins max if we turn some of the problems as we go.
If anything this game showed me that all the way down the list, with the second and third stringers most of which will not even make the team, they played extremely hard and as a team, albeit with the mistakes.
If you were expecting perfection and a lot of flash passing on a team that is bearly trying to jell as a team, in vanilla formations, you certainly missed what this team identity will be for this year. An aggressive, physical, in your mouth run option team, raw as hell with many execution issues still in front of them.
That is the shit AR and CS inherited. But it feels to me much better than last year circus, rah, rah, rah, because this team has no quit, and every player has each others back, and they will play hard to the end. Not a one player centric bunch of bullshit. We will play to the entire team strength with all the faults and growing pain of a work in progress.
I’ll save the real bitching for the season and only if this team does not give 100% effort every week, win or loose. The rest is gravy.

I watched every snap. Some highlights and lots of low lights. Toughness and no quit attitude is there, but execution and mistakes abound. No starters except for one so not much to draw from it except we have ways to go and improve. Save your time

I have a totally contrarian opinion re last night. This was game to finalize last few roster spots, nothing else. It was excellent in that regard. Neither QB will be on 53 roster. Both skinner and Brandon Smith will be on roster. I think also Beck and smartt showed enough. The rest of the players are just cuts.
Now you may not like the quality of the final 53, I certainly don't, but in terms of making the decision based on current personal, game was a success Play calling immaterial in preseason

I'm sure the Jets have some incredibly advanced GnP plays all drawn up to be unleashed upon the poor unsuspecting Pittsburgh Steelers. They're locked in a vault in the deepest darkest regions of MetLife to be opened only during the regular season. I'm sure the NFL is shaking in their booths at the thought of the coming Jet juggernaut GnP offense.

How's the run focused offense doing so far? Nobody needs forty points a game but they do need more points than the other guys - do you see that happening a lot?

Has Glenn ever shown an indication that he's the kind of guy who is going to let the media get under his skin? Did you hear him reply "Who says it's a passing league?" when a reporter made that claim then go on to give examples of current successful teams that run a lot? I saw him laughing with the ref on the sidelines as it was determined they weren't getting the TD late in the game last night. You may have a very long wait for him to "lose it" with reporters.

Preseason is a kind of proof of concept - don't expect the Jets to be a 75% throwing team but maybe look to the dial being moved 10% or so in that direction now that it's becoming more clear what works. If he's going to lose it over anything I hope it's with the penalties.

Jets will be a unstoppable juggernaut this year, averaging between 3 to 12 points a game, let's go Folk
