2025 - Preseason Week 3: Jets vs Eagles

We did that last year with a guy who had one of the better years, statistically speaking, in franchise history.

We might set offensive football back a full century this season.

What's the over/under on Aaron Glenn getting the 1000 yd stare before the season is over...?

 

Multiple times so far, Eagles commentators calling the game have called out the "oddness" and "quality" of MetLifes turf.

Still boggles the mind how the NFL doesn't have a standard for each stadiums field, especially with turf. Not each stadium that uses turf uses the same kind? Why not?

 

Neither Martinez NOR Cook should make the 53. Just go sign a old guy to hand the ball off in case Tyrod has his annual injury.

 

Martinez is awful. He’ll be gone tomorrow.

 

Tyrod is already ahead of schedule on the inevitable injury, given his knee surgery. We really should be running the Wishbone.

In short, neither backup QB proved much at all. not a solution. Penalties cost us every good drive. Biggest disappointment of the night. Jets need to absolutely get a grip on that. Our back up OL is substandard. Bright nuggets...the two WR rookies, Smith and Skinners. Moore at Safety had a great game. it will not be hard to release the first 20-25 players.

 

This is classic Jets football. I mean that sincerely. The holding penalty on the 20+ yard run was the chef's kiss.

 

Pritchett is our real YAC guy. Has Corley been cut yet??

 

At least that punt coverage by the Eagles was funny. A very jet-like play there haha

 

Only to be topped by everyone preaching accountability after the game is over.

You’re right about league standards, however, I’ve been on that field and can’t for the life of me see what’s wrong with it. It’s been entirely changed from the first generation of complaints. Seems like BS to me. It’s nicer than any other MetLife or Giants Stadium turf, and yes I remember the grass tray experiment.

 

As long as our fourth string gets to play the other team's fourth string every game, we can be competitive.

 

I can't wait for the Manning family announcement that Arch won't play for the Jets if we pick him #1 overall.

 

Maybe walking on it is one thing, but running and quickly changing direction on it is another?

Maybe it's just me, but guys slipping a lot on it.....

 

The turf at MetLife has always looked weird. In other places it’s very close to grass, ours looks rubbery or something and not close to grass
