Tight End molywhopped a Giants LB on that 3rd Down play and was wide open. Martinez was locked in on looking down the middle of the field and overthrew the ball. A little more patience and a turn of his eyes/neck to the right and it could have been a big play to the TE.
I'd even settle for a slightly below average passing attack at this point. Doesn't look like there's any chance we'll even get that.
The one saving grace we all have is that Fields and the starting offense hasn’t played much in the preseason which is typical of starting offenses. They generally only look like they’re clicking on all cylinders when it’s Burrow, Mahomes, etc. Our offense looking mediocre to below average is probably not that alarming in all honestly. We’re looking at a bottom 10 offense which is OK if the team has fight and we punch our division in the mouth and win some games.
15 years of irrelevance in the Salary Cap era. We keep signing first time head coaches from the defensive side and expect a different result. Joke is on us to still get excited.
Ownership should get a plaque in the Hall of Fame for that feat. I mean, going almost two decades without appearing in the playoffs in the salary cap era is almost as impressive as what the Patriots did over the past twenty-plus years.
Is that the first time we've seen a Jets QB throw a pass downfield this decade? Probably not, but it feels like it. Still, typical Jets result, though.
On the plus side, since we can't pass the ball, these games should be considerably shorter this year.
I feel like our offensive game plan for the season is out there. Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. I feel like teams are already fixing to stack the box and make Fields beat them. Other than the occasional nice run, that's never going to happen.
Well, at least the clock management at the end of the 1st Half was competent. Haven't seen that in years for the Jets. . .
