On that video I posted, what minute? For example at 0:57, I see nice motion right pivot foot rotating. Same exact thing at 1:10. Whole body motion. The only place I don't see it is when he is running forward trying to avoid a hit on his arm. Where do you see a problem? Can you point on the video?
IMO stock up RB Edwards QB Fields DL TE Smart K Mevis OL CB Garnder Stock down TE Ruckert S Dean Clark--he had a clear tackle on the Pack TD run and bounced right off the RB QB Cook--Martinez is twice the QB
He could easily step in and play slot WR. He was a superb route runner at Michigan annnnnd had solid hands. Could be used as a multi faceted weapon. He will not make it through waivers. Some Rb needy team will scoop him up. He should have been drafted IMO
It’s probably less than a 10% chance Edwards makes the roster but goddamn if my nightmare isn’t the Bills picking him up on waivers because this James Cook shit still isn’t figured out. Shades of Danny Woodhead.
I will say that waiver pickups are more rare these days. Teams seem to go with the guys in their buildings more than years past
I don't know if I agree, they have worn the team's offensive identity on their sleeve all season, run run run run. I can see them carrying 4 backs and getting creative with how they list Beck.
I was extremely impressed with what I saw from Martinez. Kid's got some zip and he can move. Watched the first half of the 49'er game then the second of the Jets. Flipping them today. Let me be clear on this one. The ONLY thing I was wanting to see was how Glenn did. That man getting into the asses of his players was all I needed to see to tell me this is a new day in NY Jets land and it gave me a glimmer of hope. There is, without a doubt, clear the Jets cupboard is NOT bare. There are some things to work with there. A solid coaching staff can add 2 or 3 wins alone with discipline, accountability and coaching. Crossing my fingers, seeing as it was one pre-season game and all, but it was encouraging.
Some of the comments are funny. So know we are going to pick on Fields throwing motion as the issue and sending Sanders to the hall of fame after one pre season game. Good heaven, someone needs to spend time looking at Lamar and even Mahomes. Lord knows there are a ton of QBs in the NFL past and present that throw the perfect spiral and can’t win shit.
No one here is putting Shedeur in the HoF. It’s just social media trolls gaslighting the Cleveland fanbase. There were concerns about Fields’ passing in training camp leading up to this game. I hadn’t been to training camp yet this year, so to see his throwing motion (outside of social media highlights), it left a lot to be desired. Looked like there was a lot of mechanical effort with low quality ball speed couple with loss of timing.
Personally, if the folks on this board had ANY basis for their critique, outside general arm-chair QB'ing, I'd expect to see them trolling a sideline or coaching from the booth. As far as a QB's throwing mechanics, I'll leave that to folks who actually coach quarterbacks. Pat Mahomes has possibly the WORST throwing motion and mechanics I've ever seen. How many SB's does he have again? Then again, as previously stated, I'm a defense guy and am WHOLLY not qualified to say what I said about Pat Mahomes. Get what I'm saying?
