At some point I will move this to Draft Forum but for folks like me, who don't follow college football, can resident experts let us know who we should follow in the upcoming College Football season? I think we will pick in Top 10 and miss out top 2 or 3 prospects. I am hoping there are at least 4 or 5 good prospects so we can at least dream about the upcoming QB class. @Jonathan_Vilma @BrowningNagle @legler82 I am looking at you guys for information.
LaNorris Sellers is going to be the best QB in the draft. Arch will go #1 but we aren't picking that high next year. Pre-seaon 2026 Draft Prospect Rankings (QB) https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/positions/QB/1/2026
It’s just impossible to look at now. At this point in time the same year of their class, Joe Burrow was probably going to be selling insurance after the season and Spencer Rattler was the Heisman favorite and likely top 5 pick. I’ll throw a wild card out there without much analysis on how his arm, size, etc. translate - John Mateer. He was awesome last year but got zero coverage playing in the PAC-2.
I saw Mateer's highlights a few months ago thought he looked like a pro bowl QB at the next level, although huge grain of salt with the level of competition. His footwork is unbelievably good for a college player along with the physical ability and all of his moves were decisive. I'll be paying attention to Oklahoma this year.
I’m biased as a SC alum but I like LaNorris Sellers. Big as hell, he can run, very humble. Such a workable player. There is some Josh Allen in his game. I do want to see how he progresses with his passing though, he’s still rough around the edges and could get better, and if he doesn’t then there could be issues Arch Manning despite the limited play has looked really good but NOT like the other Mannings. He is not a statue pocket passer. but I don’t think Manning will declare
I don’t think manning declares. His family knows he should develop as much as possible in college so he doesn’t wash out in the nfl, and with NIL he’ll get paid to do that probably more than he would as a rookie.
NIL + a bad team picking him = Arch staying at school. Make as much money as you can in the cushiest situation possible, then go make even more money in the pros.
agreed…Arch will be coached by his family, and they have a history of not going to teams they don’t like…Peyton stayed in school, Eli forced a trade…yes there is a risk of injury by staying in school longer than you need to, but now that they get paid in school too, I just don’t see Arch declaring unless they all feel he would be going to a team they like…because no matter when he declares, he’ll be a top pick if not THE top pick, and that will always be a bad team, so they’ll try and manage that the best they can. Still early to tell as we’ll have to see how both his season goes and how the NFL draft starts shaking up, but if I had to guess now, I’d say he stays in school…
Ya know there is a lot of talk about the Saints tanking for Manning. They are clearly tanking, yes, but I don't know why people aren't talking much about this. Their offensive coordinator is Doug Nussmeier and his boy Garrett at LSU will be a top draft pick. They are tanking for Garrett Nussmeier
I saw him play last year when LSU played SC in Vegas but I can't for the life of me remember if I thought he looked good or not. It wasn't a very memorable game until the 4th quarter.
So hard to tell. I recall the year we took Zack Wilson #2 overall, we laughed at the Bills who got stuck with some big goof-ball who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. We wouldn't have taken Josh Allen if he was handed to us on a silver plater. Oh wait!!! He was!!! Can you imagine the uproar if we abandoned Zack and drafted that big goof-ball instead? Such is the draft....just never know.
I don’t anyone would have been in an uproar over not drafting Zach, most here thought he was not worthy of the number 2 pick. I do think a lot of people would have been in an uproar if we drafted Allen over Darnold.
