I agree that given Corley's college career, it seems like the Jets drafted him way too early. On the other hand, we should give him a chance. One season is rarely enough time to evaluate a draft pick.
I get it with Rodgers because Rodgers had Randall Cobb for years in GB and Cobb was always that type of receiver in that he would do his most damage with running after the catch. So maybe, passively watching because he's not a scout or GM, Rodgers wanted that type of wideout and heard about Corley and confirmed his interest. But what I dont get is, you dont have to be a football expert to look at Corley and see a guy who couldn't run many routes. He just doesn't. I mean I'm just a guy, football ain't my job or my expertise, but I watch Corley stuff and he does the same thing every time. I said at the time he clearly needed a "redshirt" year. How does it happen that the experts, the "scouts" and men with a career in football didn't see that? The plan was really for him to walk into the NFL from Western Kentucky, catch little curl routes, and run people over. in the NFL?
