Don’t really need another cancer. Rodgers was bad enough. Jets culture is changing, for the best.

I didn’t defend the pick for CB, I defended the Safety pick. I said earlier the CB was a head scratcher.

5th round pick is Miami LB Francisco Mauigoa, a projected 7th rounder at a position we don’t need.

    Unreal.

it seems like most of the Jets pick went to commercial right after it said the pick is in

Horton WR still on board even Tez Johnson or Bllack the DT. But we picked a 7th rounder hahaha maybe we will need a new GM next year again

Our last pick was so far off the radar that Connor Rogers who puts together one of the most comprehensive draft guides in the country doesn’t even have him in his top 500.

Moogs first draft has all the makings of an Idzik draft.

It’s what you want in the 5th round when you can’t field a five wide set or a D line

I’ve never heard of half these guys, but I just saw the highlight reel on Miami guy looks good
But I guess everybody on here is stressing for a defensive tackle. I don’t blame you.

    Seems like another reach tbh

    Overview

Productive three-year starter with the frame and physicality of a throwback banger. Mauigoa is limited athletically but works around it using his football intelligence and feel for blocking schemes. He’s proactive downhill but too slow to patrol sideline to sideline and lacks the agility to tackle shifty runners in space. He’s too limited for third-down duties as a pro, so he’ll have to prove he’s a capable backup as a two-down run thumper and quality special-teams player.

    Strengths
    • Built like a banger inside.
    • Has a nose for the football and makes plays.
    • Reads blocking schemes and shoots downhill into soft spots.
    • Patience/instincts keep him from drifting into blocks unnecessarily.
    • Can play on all special-teams groupings.
    Weaknesses
    • Heavy feet to slide or change direction in space.
    • Lacks adequate speed for sideline-to-sideline range.
    • Missing twitch to strike and play quickly off of blocks.
    • Below-average body control for open-field tackles.
    • Will be mismatched if asked to man cover in the pros.

Mauigoa is a total violent, throwback LBer. I don't know how he fits into today's NFL, but he's the sort of player you're gonna have a hard time rooting against.

It was more of an observation and an astute question.

    Steelers DT selections were outstanding.
Couldn’t stop the run last year. Something tells me that’s going to improve quite a bit.

Yeah, that's quite disappointing and concerning - not a single DT selected in 5 rounds in a deep DT draft.

Of course the FO could be wrong (as many posters insist) but it’s kind of comical seeing the level of reaction (and hubris)

I like the wtf picks because it suggests independent thought and diligence

I just hope the chicken littles fess up if some of these picks pan out
