Winston would get his ass fried in NY. The fans would eviscerate him on the interceptions alone. I want no part of this guy.

I've put it out there. Right now, I think the Jets should go into the season with Fields battling Taylor for the starting job, the other the obvious backup, with Travis on the P.S. Of course, if they can land Fields. That places them in a position where, if Fields figures it out, they have their QB for the next decade. If not, he keeps the chair warm until the 2026 draft. If they can't get Fields then all bets are off. Whomever than can convince to come in and be a placeholder would have to suffice.

The Jets will pick an offensive tackle in the first round. They will then have an offensive line with the possibility of keeping it together long term. 5 young guys with great potential to form a top unit. They could trade down and still get one of the best guys because that's where there is strength this year.

    You're entitled to your opinion.

Someone is going to take him if he slides. Dallas? Winning organizations seize opportunties.

The future is unknown. I wouldn't wait for next year's QB class if I can get a QB now I'd do it if I were running the Jets.

To me, this draft is about simple math. The New York Jets have the 7th overall pick. According to just about every mock draft I have seen, the following players will be off the board by the time the Jets pick:

    Ward - QB
    Sanders - QB
    Carter - Edge
    Hunter - CB/WR

That means at pick seven, the Jets are GUARANTEED to have at least one of the following on the board:

    A) The best offensive lineman in the draft
    B) The best interior defensive lineman in the draft
    C) Tyler Warren, the best Tight End in the draft

In my limited-worth opinion, the Jets should draft one of these three options.

With no starting RT, I think that is the pick. This draft is deep at DT and TE, so I think those are later round picks.

Someone will trade up for Mason Graham and we should jump at that chance. There are 8-12 OT’s in this draft that are good enough to start day 1, most definitely good enough to start day 1 at RT. An extra 1st in next years draft will be worth gold.

These are the best options in my opinion:

Option 1: Draft McMillan or Warren 1st round @7 for a weapon, draft the best of Zabel, Conerly, Cam Williams, Savaainaia, or Ersery with our 2nd pick. One of them will be there.

Option 2: Draft Will Campbell 1st round @7, don’t fall for the Membou hype. The best OT in this draft is and has always been Campbell. Someone is gonna get Kelvin Banks at a massive steal if the teams follow the media hype nonsense. Draft best WR/TE 2nd round. I don’t like this route as much because I don’t think we need a premier OT and I don’t think we’ll get a great WR/TE if we wait.

Option 3: Trade down from 7, put us in the middle of the draft. Grab the best of Luther Burden, Tyler Warren, Egbuka, or Loveland. In the 2nd round draft the best of Zabel, Conerly, Cam Williams, Savaainaia, or Ersery with our 2nd pick. Stash the extra first for next year, and depending on how far we traded down possibly net us a 2nd and/or 3rd this year as well. This is what I hope we do.

Spending a top 10 pick on a RT seems a bit rich especially when you already have 2 1st & a 2nd round pick in you oline.

The trade back makes a lot of sense.

The difference between some of these positions are minimal. Campbell, Banks and Membou are all solid OL.
Warren and Loveland are a lot closer than people realize.
Really only if Carter/Tet/Hunter/Graham/ is there I’m 100% making that pick. After that I think sliding back and taking one of the OL, TE or Will Johnson

Now, especially since we got Fields, I am definitely not drafting a QB with 1st three picks. These are premium picks. We need a lot of help on the roster. DL, OL, WR, TE. Heck even the 4th rounder, we really need to get young talent to round out the roster. With Fields and Tyrod, plus possibly Jordan Travis if he is healthy, we have a good combination of youth and experience at the QB. I do not see a higher probability QB talent in this draft, aside from Cam, at least not higher than what we already have on the roster. Let's see what Fields (and even possibly Travis in preseason, etc) can do, round out the roster with the draft picks, and focus on QB next year if Fields does not improve. This year we REALLY need every draft pick to help the rest of the roster. Ideally even move down from 7 some to get another Day 2 pick.

If Dart is somehow available in the second round or McCord in the third and we pass on him because of Justin Fields then we hired the wrong GM.

As for the seventh overall… With Josh Myers getting a very clear backup contract we still have a glaring hole at right tackle so I expect that to be the pick. Unfortunately.

No, it is not the clear pick. The option for a stud DL is there, and go OL in the second or vice versa. Further, if the GM and AG don’t see the value of Dart or McCord for that matter you pass. All this hype on the QBs this year is not necessarily embraced by the GMs as much as the casual fans. I see them dropping some.

I would love the Michigan DL Graham, hes perfect for us

I cant get past the fact though that Kelvin Banks Jr. (RT) is from the very same hometown as Aaron Glenn. I think he is going to be the selection. And thats okay cause he can play

I MUCH prefer Graham or Warren to a RT but in looking at what the Lions did plus the theoretical cloud of “choose the lineman over the stud pass catcher” that has been over us the last two times we took a tackle that early.

Graham is my far and away top choice. Perfect fit and huge need.

This isn’t the year to take a top 45 receiver, however I think it’s a great year to find a mid round receiver and I hope they even take two cracks at them.

Ricky White (UNLV), Savion Williams (TCU), Tory Horton (Colorado State), Theo Wease (Missouri), Nick Nash (SJSU), the three Colorado guys - Wester, Sheppard and Jimmy Horn Jr., etc.

Let’s add a couple young fast guys and make them compete. Read option play action bombs down the field.

I hear some buzz for RT Menbou at 7th. Just started watching some film, the guy is a wall.

With Yeboah signing with the Lions, the TE room is really thin right now. There's only Ruckert and Smartt(who's basically a big slot WR with no blocking ability), so that leads me to believe if Warren is there at 7, he'll be a Jet.
