You just keep quiet, buy your tickets, and keep the line moving.

I voted yes, but I'll probably be voting yes until the earth breaks off its axis.

I think Robert Saleh should have been retained until the last game of the regular season (not that it mattered). The reason I say that is the optics of Woody Johnson going, "I'm putting my foot down!" made it all look worse.

I still have to chuckle every time I see this thread title…I don’t think it’s Woody FINALLY blew it up at all…I think that’s ALL we ever do…like fucking clockwork. Every three to four to five years we’re looking for a new HC and/or a new GM and trading away pieces so we can finally “build through the draft”. That’s all we ever do.

    Why?

Because Woody keeps making the wrong decisions. Every time.

He hires bad coaches. He hires bad GMs. He knows nothing about how to build a successful team…as decades of losing and the longest playoff drought in North American sports can attest to.

So I have no issue with blowing it up when it doesn’t work. I don’t at all buy into the “we need stability” mentality that we hear once in a while that goes something like “well, if you keep hiring new coaches and implementing new schemes and such, you’ll never do well because you need consistency”…and that points to franchises like the Steelers and Ravens who are indeed very consistent. However, they mistake the cause for the effect. They are consistent because Cowher and Tomlin and Harbaugh are good coaches, and their front offices both know what they are doing. So the cause is the people in the roles, and the effect is the consistency. Not the other way around.

We could have given Gase 10 years and Mac 10 years … they would NEVER become great.

So yah, let’s blow it up again and admit Woody fucked up again, and this time, let’s hope that miraculously the hiring of yet another first time DC to be HC and another “up and coming” front office guy to be GM actually works this time…

    This times 1,000

The NY Jets do NOT HAVE any LUCK so the off chance that Glenn or this other unknown cat having any "lucky" success is about 2%. Any idiot with 2 brain cells to rub together can SEE that this ENTIRE organization needs to be wiped clean from the OWNER through the FO. They "keep" bringing in these bullshit consultants that, were they any good, would STILL be GM'ing or coaching wherever. You know the old adage, "if you can't "do" then "teach?" Yeah, the Jets take that to the EXTREME.

Until the owner is wiped off the board, this team is doomed to shit the bed, over and over again. People keep throwing the Commanders out there as an example. Ummm...BEFORE they got Jayden Daniels they got a NEW owner! I don't see that happening here so strap up people. "We're" about to go right back down the path of "let's start over again." And, I swear to whatever will listen, if these yahoo's trade UP in this draft to pick one of these, mediocre at best, QB's I will literally have a conniption and then slam the door shut on my fandom. I will "give" Glenn the benefit of the doubt this year, but only IF they stay put or trade down. One WHIF of a trade up and that'll do it for me.

This hiring process was a failure.

I hope it works out but the worst possible scenario was to hire a first time head coach and first time GM and that's exactly what the Jets did. Maybe by some miracle they finally get it right but this has Bowles/Saleh/Gase written all over it. (Gase obviously wasn't a first timer but we all knew it didn't make sense especially when McCarthy was there).

I hope I'm wrong and I understand why people are being optimistic (because who wants to go through another 3-4 years of failure) but this was not the time to experiment with an unknown. It was time to bring in someone to bring the Jets back to relevance. It's been so damn long. McCarthy would have turned the direction around no doubt about it

Yeah…definitely the “been there done that” vibes here for sure…I was not hoping to see a first time DC to be HC, and honestly we could have hired Dimitroff, who’s had success as a GM before, and yup could have gone McCarthy, a Super Bowl winning offensive HC who did get the Cowboys to the playoffs and won double digit games…that would have been a HUGE step up for us.

But no, Woody does what Woody does.

And the only thing we as fans can do about it is either watch and hope for the best or not support the team and go root for another team…which is not really an option for most fans

Which just sucks…but yeah, I can’t overstate how much I hate Woody and his ownership, and how little I think of him as an owner

He’s not an asshole like a Snyder was, but he’s just an idiot incompetent boob…

Your bet was a failure. Man up to the terms you set and delete your ID.

You didn't accept the bet until after the result was already in.

    You blew it.

    BULLSHIT!

I accepted the bet nine minutes into February tenth. The Jets announced they were moving on from Rodgers on February 13th.

I was right. You were wrong. Man up! Don't try to weasel out. You set the terms. I accepted. You lost. Go away!

No you accepted it after the news story came out that the Jets were moving on from Rodgers. I posted the bet the night prior, the story came out early the next day, then you accepted it.

You also had replied to the thread prior to the news story coming out but didn't reply to my account bet post. You blew it. You had your chance and you didn't seize it.

This could shape up to be the longest NFL offseason in history.

    @Ralebird , @SOXXX2

Guys. Kinda got bad news for you. You guys can’t delete your accounts. Only admins can. And we won’t delete anybody’s accounts due to a bet. :)

All good I would have accepted it if Ralebird had accepted the bet prior to the results coming in but he waited until the result was already in to accept it so there is nothing to discuss.

(It would have been the equivalent to offering a bet on the Super Bowl and I picked the Chiefs while he didnt accept the to pick the eagles until the game was already over, doesn't work like that)
