I don't think GW is going to request a trade, something weird happened between that dude and Rodgers and GW went from idol worshipper to hating the guy's guts and not wanting to be on the same team.
Jets trading for Rodgers was the worst trade the Jets ever made, Rodgers was a massive disappointment
They'll never be able to top that pick swap we did with the Raiders years back that basically saw us vacate our first round pick to pick up Doug Jolley and Mike Nugent.
yeah idk about that. rodgers out performed mahomes this year in almost every category. rodgers did his job. its the rest of the putrid franchise that didnt. bc the jets will always jet no matter what.
Rodgers compiled mostly meaningless stats while causing a ton of execution issues dragging the play clock to zero all game and not being able to make all the throws on the field. He was captain checkdown most of the season and he was also a bit of an asshole to his teammates when they lost. A lot. That's not getting the job done, that's playing on field politics so you can say it wasn't your fault. He got his career stat milestone before the end of the season though, didn't he?
If you surveyed all the Jets players, I'll bet 2/3rds would have said to bring Rodgers back. I'll bet if you asked the offensive guys, it's closer to 75%. This was a bad decision, continuing our string of idiotic decisions at QB going back 20 years.
What an awesome way to form an argument. Make up your own assumptions slanted entirely in your favor and then draw a conclusion based off the made up data lol.
Loosing six games late in the fourth quarter while holding the lead says otherwise. RS famous statement just give me the lead in the fourth quarter was a complete pile of garbage.
I do agree it would have been better. Promoting Brick significantly hurt the D. But the CS on the offensive side of the ball was not much better. Oh my God what a mess with RS and his highly incompetent staff. JD biggest mistake, next to Wilson. The only decent young coach we had paid the price to protect that incompetent leadership.
Rogers blew crucial moments in close games. Mahomes managed KC to a SuperBowl final, tell me who did their job better, the job is getting wins on the board btw
The worst trade the Jets ever made was trading a 2nd round pick for Justin McCareins. The second worst was when we traded the 13th and 22nd overall picks to trade up to #4 so we could take Dewayne Robertson.
Colin Cowheard is waxing eloquent today about the Jets leaking more info on the media explaining that they value and wanted Aaron blah blah blah, and kind of blaming AR for not wanting it if I understand him correctly. He further stated that the responses from the Jets exemplifies how dysfunctional they still are. Does anyone know exactly what he is rambling about. I thought the original message was complimentary.
Yardbarker had this... https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/arti...ction_to_being_dumped_by_jets/s1_127_41760977 the new report suggests quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a surprisingly strong reaction to the New York Jets’ decision to move on from him after two seasons. Rodgers “aggressively urged” the Jets to give him one more season as their quarterback during meetings with the team last week, according to Steve Helling and Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. The veteran quarterback was concerned that his career “could end with a whimper” if the Jets did not bring him back. Ultimately, the Jets were reportedly unmoved by Rodgers’ pleas, and went through with their plans to move on from him ahead of the 2025 campaign. The quarterback ultimately accepted the decision “like a man going to the gallows.” Who knows for sure.... personally I am glad we are moving on.
Both were bad trades. I still think the Robertson trade was worse. WR L. Coles was voted by his teammates as the jets MVP in 2002. Despite that, jets idiot GM Bradway only put a 1st round tender on Coles, when he could have put a 1st AND 3rd round tender on him. Washington noticed, and basically stole our team MVP Coles from the previous year for only a first round pick. That nitwit Bradway then packaged the jets first round pick, and the first rounder from Washington (for Coles) AND the jets 4th round pick that year (2003), all for Robertson, a short fat defensive lineman w bad knees. In other words, Bradway basically traded our team MVP from the previous year, plus our own 1st round pick, plus our 4th round pick that year, all for Robertson. Robertson didn't stay in the league very long. That's Terry Bradway. Dumb dip!
