I don't think he was drunk, he is just old and can barely speak now days. But he did say all the right things, slurring aside. Gave praise to the hires, said nice things about that, said he needs to do better job as owner, he will not interfere with Rodgers decision, and when asked point blank if Mooge and AG want to bring him back, said if they determined so, then yes, and a few other things like that.

It sounds like AG and Mooge will get a real shot to make the Jets great again, let's hope they can get it done.

If they went back 30 years and didn't at least weight more recent years more heavily, they're dropped on their head as a baby level stupid.

    Three?

Piss on that! I want results in 2025. Period, end of story. I want a SOLID playoff run or it's the end of the road. I'm not "doing" a rebuild. Every other fucking team out there seems to be able to pull it off, why not the Jets. 1 and done for me.

Personally, I don’t think Woody’s biggest fault or issue is meddling really…after all, he gave JD SIX years! That’s a lifetime in the NFL today. He doesn’t seem like he meddles in who to draft year in and year out, though of course we don’t know what’s being said behind closed doors. Sure, signings like Tebow and AR do have a very big stink of Woody chasing headlines, but really, I think Woody’s issue is just being a fucking dumbass in making key football hiring decisions. Having the HC and GM both report to him, hiring a new GM but chaining him to the current HC like with Rex, rushing to hire Gase because fucking Peyton vouched for him…shit like that. He’s consistently made terrible hiring decisions at the two most critical hires in GM and HC and he doesn’t seem to learn anything from it. He thought it was a good idea to get professional help to make these hires and then that turns out to be Korn Ferry. Seriously? If you’re looking for a CFO then yes, Korn Ferry has you covered. But I don’t think Korn Ferry when I think of GM searches. And then after that fiasco he has a better idea to get ex football guys to do the search, but then that turns out to be Charley Fucking Casserly. Like we couldn’t make up a bigger comedy of errors.

So to me, that’s his biggest flaw. He’s clueless. He’s a dumbass. And he can’t see it so he keeps doing the same stupid shit.

The only way we are going to get good hires, and here’s hoping Glenn and this Denver guy turn out to be good hires…but the only way is if we get fucking lucky.

    Fingers crossed!

I get it were all sick of the losing. But because we have sucked for a long time doesn't mean it won't take a few years to get out of the mud.

That being said I think the Jets do have a good roster. QB situation TBD.

What is a realistic expectation for the 2025 Jets? They were a complete dumpster fire and still went (5-12) in 2024. Lost a lot of one score games too. I think (8-9) to (10-7) seems fair. Guess it depends which direction they go at QB too.

Not very high. Moughey seemed like a deer in headlights. Probably working through imposter syndrome in front of the media yesterday.

Mougey was low energy for sure yesterday, but he did mention the flu hitting his family hard which is why his wife and kids weren't there. Its' possible he was sick

I dont mind a dull guy as GM, Joe Douglas was someone you'd have a beer with, and he sucked. But it was mentioned from Denver that Mougey was really good at managing people and yeah, yesterday we didn't see that.

I had the flu at this point now, one week ago and I still feel like doing absolutely nothing. Just like I find it hard to get super jacked about Glenn's high energy, I find it equally as hard to give a shit about Mougey's low energy.

Idk about low energy. I didn't get that vibe. Came across fine. Inherently a nerve wracking experience and major life change and undertaking but he seemed composed and confident enough to me.

Man I don’t miss that age at all. Now we get sick and she’s fine because she spends all day in her room talking to friends.

He was no Aaron Glenn, to be sure, but sounded fine to me. It's not about winning a press conference. I remember Saleh saying basically the same things as Glenn. Rodgers was amazing at the presser. I want to see results. As of right now the only news is that by waiting to get Caley, we may lose him to TB. I would be completely happy if instead of this press conference entirely we secured Glenn's top OC choice. If Mooge doesn't talk a lot, but can get us a stud FQB we've been waiting for 50 years now, that would be really great too.

You gotta admit he was a bit short on slogans and platitudes.

Let's not forget a SOLID f'n Kicker! I think FOUR was the number of losses directly attached to his fucking leg. Those 4 losses turn around and the team was in the Wild Card discussion!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did not promise to protect the QB and build a good OL, like JD, so maybe there is hope there.

Btw, for these who want to learn a little more on him (@Brook! you might be interested also), this is a good watch of an interview with a Denver insider, who followed Mooge's career there. He starts talking about 3:15 mins in. Generally positive take, including being excellent evaluator.

Thanks my friend. Of course we gotta see results first but I liked what I listened. I am hopeful. Hope Woody and trust fund baby Brick stay back and let AG and Mougey do their thing.

You act like promising to protect the QB and build through the trenches is a bad thing. The problem was that Joe failed at it over and over again.

I was sarcastic about JD, the point is that I don't really give a shit about any slogans and promises and winning the presser with JD being an example of that, and then failing like you said. Mooge came out bland, but it doesn't mean he is any less or more likely to deliver results.
