Lets not overlook the 800lb gorilla in the room. How Glenn handles The Legend will define his stay with us.

Hard to get excited for the "Rah, Rah" stuff. We've heard it all before. We'll see.

Yes, it is hard to get excited about it. I also think it is hard to be as relentlessly negative as some of our dear posters. The Jets/Titans have had about 16 decent years out of the last 65. What do you think is going to get worse?

I think it will be the other way around.. Rodgers will not be the favorite child now.

The Aaron Rodgers show needs to be over. Glenn has to establish who's in charge. Who's the Alpha Dog. I don't think Rodgers can handle being a subordinate.

Yes exactly, I don't care what anyone says but last years debacle and clown show started when Aaron Rogers decided to report to Egypt instead of training camp, for that and the crazy Cap hit we will take in 2026 we need to cut ties with him now. Also cut ties with the other people and bad actors who ruined our season(Hackett, Zurelin, Kinlaw, and Clemons), if anyone of those people are on the team next year Jets are not serious about winning.

I agree. But I think he will be here another year. Hopefully if he stays he can back off and let the coaches run the show.

Q: What can Rodgers do in another year that he was unable to do since he got here?
Followup: How long could that be sustained?

I guess the idea would be that he could be a bridge/ could help groom a future qb. But the amount of baggage that comes with his personality, and he doesn’t strike as the type that can put himself aside enough to make that successful.
I guess it could be said that if he had numbers like he did this season, if the defense is no longer a sieve , If the team is much better coached , we could be much better off.

I’m in alignment with this mindset — you are referring to hoping it gets better here, though. I separate hope and excitement. If the Jets put forward a Commanders type season, I’d be excited about the 2025 campaign. Obviously that didn’t happen so my excitement is curtailed.

That being said, my hope remains unwavering in that I look forward to a season where the Jets find success.

I get pissing on Rodgers for various reasons... but negating his performance on the field should not be one of them.

I keep going back to the fact that the Commanders changed ownership, and one of the Jets' biggest weaknesses is the owner. I don't expect anything of the sort. I think Aaron Glenn has potential to be a really good HC but his first hire will be a predictable disaster because the real problems are at the top and the rot filters down through the whole place.

I get that. I haven't been excited for a Jets' season since 1999, so that's not really part of my mindset anymore. Hopeful is the best this franchise will ever get out of me, I'm afraid.

I'm not afraid of anything anymore. I hope for the best, but I am always prepared for the worse. I'm hoping Woody will allow AG to be the HC and stay the fuck out of the personnel loop.

We have no idea what happens behind the scenes, but I thought this year was the biggest in terms of Woody getting involved. He seemed to have just lost it and being reactionary made it worse.

Owners on every team has input and use it, they own the team. But I don't think he will get in their way.

His kids need to stay out of the locker room though in my opinion, or not be near whatever the team is doing. The whole gameball thing is fucked.

im amazed at how easy it is to get the simpletons to fall in line. “he said some rah rah stuff I will now ignore his abysmal defense and total lack of experience!”
