I don't think it will happen, this is to me really like Bob 2.0 in more ways than one. He leaves to go elsewhere, deal is finalized, and he will be the HC. But let's entertain for a second what happens if Aaron does not sign. The Jets haven't even talked to any good offensive coaches, not even Joe Brady. So, the next pairing is probably Flores/Grigson. That to me is even worse than Glenn/Newmark.
I don’t disagree with your last statement. I would love to hear the logic from Woody and the 33rd Team as to why they’ve declined to interview any qualified Offensive minded coaches.
This is the worst logic I've seen in a while. Rejecting an offer isn't the same as thinking about one that's still on the table.
I really think Woody is that dumb. I think @Jets79 nailed it, and I am paraphrasing: as much of absolute total moron and imbecile we think Woody is, he is actually way dumber than that.
Here’s Mike Florio saying pretty much the exact same thing: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...still-havent-closed-the-deal-with-aaron-glenn
Yeah, he hasn't signed the deal yet. That doesn't mean he turned it down, he just didn't sign it right away. I fully understand that he could indeed still reject the offer and go elsewhere. It IS the JETS after all and I wouldn't blame him for staying away. He hasn't turned anything down yet.
I think this sums it up nicely: "Regarding the Jets’ lack of interest in Ben Johnson, word was that the Jets didn’t want to have to recruit someone to take the job. That same mindset apparently kept them from doing whatever they had to do to get Glenn to sign on the dotted line. It’s not surprising. The billionaires who own football teams are used to having their butts kissed; they usually hate to be the ones doing the kissing of keisters."
I'm now starting to think Aaron Glenn Is using us as leverage with the Saints. Which wouldn't be that crazy I guess considering he didn't even retire a NYJ. I just don't understand this owner man.... How could you though? Most of us aren't a complete fucking idiot.
Rosenblatt threw out the name Klint Kubiak as a guy in the mix to be Glenn's OC. He is a bright, young mind with experience calling plays. He seems to me like the next Ben Johnson type, as in, a couple years getting offers everywhere. If Glenn gets the job I hope he does bring in Kubiak
His offense wasn't all that impressive though for the Saints though this past year, right? I don't know much about him, I will have to look him up. EDIT: https://sports.mynorthwest.com/nfl/...-coordinator-klint-kubiak-hank-fraley/1796564 Found this. I didn't realize the Saints had the injuries they did this year and I should've realized the connection already but he's the son of Gary Kubiak, apparently he has a very innovated scheme. Anything that resembles a modern day offense, I'm all for it. lol
The Saints offense came out hotter than Sydney Sweeney. Then Carr and others got hurt and yeah they hit a cold patch. He's still a good coach and his system, wide zone, is great for this personnel IMO
Some details beginning to emerge of why Coen possibly didn't get an interview: https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1882084775164621085 Staying with the Bucks one more year. Looks like he was never truly available. Appears to be going similar route to Ben Johnson.
Lmao this is comedy, a defensive coordinator who is not even good at that job is trying to use the Saints as leverage to get more money out of Woody and Woody is going for it. This is further proof Woody is the biggest buffoon in the Nfl. Wasn't he just preaching to Woody how he loves the Jets and thats his dream job? Now he is on his way to New Orleans? Proof he just wants to be here for that bloated paycheck like the rest of the Jets. If Woody makes this hire it's going to be 5 more years of Saleh. It's crazy when even Aaron Glenn a shit defensive coordinator living of the cotails of Ben Johnson doesn't want to coach this shit franchise.
Yes, he is a bafoon for sure, but Glenn is coming. This is another stupid hit piece by FLorio. LOL. Just wait for a few hours, this will be official soon: https://x.com/JosinaAnderson/status/1882087575986618407
I said it after the 2024 season: I am good with whoever they hire at GM and Head Coach. I’ll wait and see how they handle the roster and how they play in 2025 before being too upset or happy.
Yeah that’s a rational approach … despite backgrounds, you never really know who will become a good HC or GM and who won’t. Still, there ARE some résumé’s and backgrounds and experiences that fit better than others. While it’s possible that a defensive coordinator can become a great HC, I feel like for the Jets, that’s just not the best fit. We have struggled with offense for decades…2015 was the lone outlier in the last what, 15 or so years, that we had a good offense. In a league built and designed for offense. And our imbecile owner can’t see that. He continues to covet and hire first time DC’s to be our new HC. Time after time. And it very clearly has not worked. Anyone with half a fucking brain would think hey, let’s try a different approach. Hey, let’s get an offensive minded guy in here. He doesn’t … and the one time he did, he chose Adam Fucking Gase who EVERYONE knew was a sham…he didn’t make Peyton and we all knew it. So yeah, I think the negative reactions from a lot of fans is warranted… If it is Glenn in the end, I’ll hope he succeeds where so many others have failed, but if I had to bet on it, I don’t think he will…
Aaron Glenn: " Mr Woody, it would be a dream of mine to coach the Jets, I can really turn this sinking ship around, I want no other Job than this, I would die for this job." Woody: Love to hear this your hired Aaron Glenn: "Oh wait New Orleans just called be right back" Woody: "Well be here waiting for you, your our only choice, no backup plan"
If that's what you took from the Schultz "X" post you're either totally awful at reading comprehension or are simply trying to mislead people here. How is it you can post a link to a paywalled website but you can't post a link from something you're so anxious to misinterpret? It's okay if you don't agree with how the employment searches are going on but why approach your posts from a point of dishonesty? Do you think it helps your credibility?
#32 in offense during the play-off drought of 14 years, the worst in the NFL in that span. Glenn would have to be really lucky to find an OC to fix it and then keep finding the OCs if they have any success and leave. All while I am not even sure he can get defense to be as good as it was before as his own defenses in Detroit were not that great. It's a tough order. Rooting for him to succeed, but we will need a lot of luck on this one.
Newmark doesn't excite me, but who the hell knows. Seriously. If it is Glenn and Newmark, at least they seem to have a good working relationship
