The other coordinators on that list are Frank Smith, Thomas Brown, Brian Schottenheimer, Brian Callahan, Kellen Moore, Steve Wilks, Dan Quinn, Brian Flores, and Raheem Morris. Dan Quinn is legit good and also had success as an HC before this year. Other than that, it's a pretty unimpressive list. Maybe Brian Callahan will work out in Tennessee.

We'll see about the Lions with Goff, but what all the past teams who had success without a franchise QB have in common is the success was fleeting.

I doesn't matter if you're impressed with the list - the purpose was to see which guys impress the people who work for them. I'm on the side that says the players know more about this than any of us do.

Yeah, to win SB is almost impossible without a top QB, but there may be small hope of making SB. Goff, Hurtz, Purdy. Jimmy G all made SBs in recent years as well. Of course they are all in NFC :). But still they had great offensive head coaches and a very strong roster. This is why these teams compete year after year with rare exceptions. We however decided not to go with offensive coach or look at assistant GM at these top organizations.

I'm on the side that says reality knows more than the players do. I don't know if you noticed, but the list was made a year ago, in January 2024. Look at how the guys on the list did over the last year. With the exception of Quinn, it's not pretty.

what are you talking about? Quinn is a game from the Super Bowl, Glenn went 15-2. Flores 14-3.

2 of the other guys were elevated to interim coach, and almost everyone, non-specials, on that list are receiving interviews for a head job.

Clearly they are all respected by people that actually work in the NFL, which was the question posed in the first place

The players are the reality. Fans just think they are.

I know when the list was made and I'd expect a new one in a few weeks if the survey gets repeated annually. The survey is not about wins and losses, it's about who the players have the most respect for - a totally different qualifier.

A year ago Quinn would’ve been shit on, and was, for his hiring.

He failed as a HC and was carried a lot by Dallas’ offense, before his defense was carved up in the playoffs.

Dan Quinn was experienced, took a team to the SB, and ran a solid offense in DAL. While he’s not the premium makeup of a HC candidate, he’s had a reasonable track record. A hell of alot better than Flores, Glenn or Brady. Meanwhile there’s 2 guys out there with an incredible track record for a HC that is available on the market for free and we won’t even interview them.

2 guys with an incredible track record as HC? McCarthy... and whom?

I definitely think they should've at least interviewed McCarthy, so I'm aligned there

Actually 3. McCarthy, Carroll, and Gruden. 4 if we took Belicheck’s interview request.

FK Big Bill. I would stop being a fan if we had hired that fucker as our HC. Gruden's return the NFL was extremely uninspiring.

McCarthy and Carroll, I wouldn't really like those hires but I could get behind them.

It comes down to who do you think has a better chance or Developing our next franchise Qb, Mccarthy and Carroll who have done it before or Aaron Glenn? We all know the answer to that one even if we are in denial. The only way the Jets will be relevant in the next coaches tenure and he will keep his job is if we hit on a Qb and develop him, otherwise no matter who the coach is he is toast.

Honestly, how can you support Aaron Glenn over any of them?

Exactly. Look at the 4 QB's still playing. All of them franchise QB's that you can win with.

Its mind blowing the Jets are about to screw this up again.

    Fuck this franchise.

Mike McCarthy is sitting there for the taking and would get this team back to winning but lets gamble on another coordinator. Unreal. The issues with this team run very deep. Its not a job for a coordinator to figure out how to fix. They need someone with experience who can gut this team from the inside and out. Absolutely zero chance a coordinator will do that.

See all the people that work at Florham. THEY NEED TO ALL GO AND BE REPLACED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. DRAIN FLORHAM PARK.......
