Jets owner Woody Johnson acknowledged he read a recent article by The Athletic that painted him as a meddlesome owner and the Jets as a dysfunctional organization. Johnson said the article was “absolutely untrue.” “I think the article is a typical smear piece — unsubstantiated,” Johnson told The Post. “Nobody really stood up and put their name on anything. It’s absolutely untrue. Everything was out of context. Joffrey has no role in the organization. It's just an apprenticeship to be the owner of the team. No role at all. Totally out of context. The thought of Woody having an apprentice is comforting. Such a mentor.
