Rodgers is gone. The new GM's first order will be to find to most financially beneficial method of removing him from the team. He embarrassed Woody directly, that's a death sentence at 1JD.

I am saying it’s unlikely you would have been all in on him once we were eliminated from the Playoffs

Am I wrong to assume that?

Yes, I've loved him all year. I think going out and getting him was one of the best things we've ever done.

now you are just being a fanboi.

Rodgers brought 5 wins in 2 seasons, everyone fired, complete disarray.

Clearly it wasn’t one of the best things the Jets have ever done

I think part of it was seeing Denver kicking butt and Miami quitting when they knew they were out of the playoffs. Miami was playing for a better draft pick by losing.

Of course it is. It was the biggest upgrade in team history. We went from the worst starting QB in team history to second or third best.

Shad Khan isn't the guy to throw insults. Win something meaningful, like ever.

Just from that comment he sounds kind of dumb. Not that I disagree with the sentiment but the second coming of Aaron Rodgers 2.0 is pretty redundant. If he wants to make a burn, he shouldn't sound like a moron doing it.

Because Namath was the best player in the league when we won the Super Bowl.

Look who is talking. Didn't Rodgers whoop his teams' sorry ass and they lost even more than us? Seriously, this guy is criticizing the Jets when he stunk even worse. What a cock.

He's a billionaire and owns an NFL team, he doesn't get the No Habla treatment from me.

Another guy who wants to make the easy comparison to Jets history rather than the current state of the league. The only thing a QB in 2024 should be compared with is the other QBs in 2024. Fox Sports did that today: foxsports.com/stories/nfl/qb-stock-market-ranking-all-32-starters-after-2024-regular-season

"In the QB Stock Market, we normally hold one question above all others: What have you done for your team lately? But with the season over, we will look at each player's entire body of work. These rankings instead ask the question: How much did you do for your team this year? For this edition, we ranked each team's primary starter for the 2024 season. Preseason rankings are listed in parentheses."
Rodgers is ranked number 27. You are looking at the past, which is the same thing the rankers did before the season began when he was rated number five. He's toast.

Looks like JJ thinks Aaron is pretty awesome teammate. Helped him post injury in multiple ways and pre injury too. I really am not concerned about Aaron in another other way but performance as far as him coming back. Effectively what I saw is he is about the same guy that we saw the last year in Green Bay. Maybe a little step down, because he is more inconsistent, less mobile, and he does get nicked up a lot when he gets hit. Even though he played 17 games, a lot of these he was hurt, even though generally OL protection was decent except a couple of weeks, but overall it was serviceable.

He needs a solid OL to protect him. And I think he will not get any better next year, even a year removed from Achilles as he is getting older. If anything there may be a further decline. With all that said, the body of work that we saw this year, which was inconsistent, overall is still in the 20-22 range. QBR has him as 25, PFF 15, passer rating 91, so I am thinking 20-22 is fair. He can still play. Also a benefit is we can probably get Davante on the team too, who is a very good FA signing for a #2 WR.

Ideally for me we get Fields or Derek Carr for next season. But I am not sure if Carr will be available or that Fields, who is a FA, will pick the Jets. Beyond that honestly I understand Aaron is not a great option, but what good options are there? Tyrod would be a good option actually if he were not so fragile. Year after year he gets hurt a lot whenever he plays. Pickings are really slim.

Peter King was suggesting the Steelers to go after Rodgers. That would be great! Get him off our hands and get that dysfunction into a conference rival at the same time.

I can just see them lining up in the shotgun, wasting the play clock down and throwing it 40 times a game. Najee Harris only gets 10 or so HB dives and George Pickens gets a disapproving look every series. A real recipe for success. Can they take Lazard too please

I have to admit....and I would be interested in your guys thoughts....if you showed me Aaron Rodgers stats for the 2024 season BEFORE it started...said this is what he is going to do....I would have said we were 9-8 or 10-7 and either just squeezed into or just missed the playoffs. MAYBE if we had bad luck we would be 8-9 with those numbers.

No bleeping way I figure 5-12 (really 4-13 but Tua didn't play Week 18). o_O

I watched all the games like you...I know stats/QB rating doesn't say everything....eye test and all that....but still....would many (or ANY ?) of us NOT have signed up for those numbers which are probably the 3rd or 4th best numbers EVER put up by a Jets QB ??

I think it just shows: the defense GROSSLY underperformed what we all thought....the offensive coaching was nonexistent....and coaching all-around, esp. after Saleh was fired, was non-existent.

The elevation of Ulbrich was a disaster. Saleh deserved the full year, sorry. You want to can him after the year, no problem.

But if you weren't going to hire a new HC before the season -- VRABEL !!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: -- then give him the full year. Jesus Christ, he, Joe D., and Woody ALL went all-in and visited Rodgers to convince him to come to NY. Y

And now you give him 27% of the season before firing him ??? :mad:o_O:eek:

A move made, I might add, without the support of the GM....probably Christopher Johnson and other execs....and the players.

But maybe his kids liked it. Hell, maybe they came up with it !! :D
