I read what Rex said about Aaron Rodgers. I too was critical of that. Aaron Rodgers more than atoned for that mistake by playing through this lost Jets season. He hung in there and there were times he took some scary looking tackles got up and kept on going. I have nothing but respect for that man. Aaron Rodgers paid his dues this season. He deserves to lead this team in 2025. I hope Rex isn't the guy. He always liked s****y turnover prone young QBs, his offenses were always extremely turnover prone. And he'd put a target on the Jets back with his mouth.
You're entitled to feel how you feel. Least attractive job? I can't agree. Lots of talent in place. Aaron Rodgers at QB. For coaches who know what they are doing I think this is a quick fix. Please no to Rex Ryan. NO!
Yes ..only Vinny T and Fitz had more TDs in a season Namath wants him back too However, I question his attitude and leadership ..if he submits to getting on board with the new OC and HC, that's different. His personality just makes me nervous Or we could do what the Falcons did draft the best QB available (Penix) and have a vet like K Cousins (A Rogers) play 60 per cent of the year
If you don’t think Miami players were not watching the Broncos Chiefs game while playing the Jets last night you’re delusional. Jets had a made for TV event cooked up for the Roger’s over 500 touchdowns event. Hey even the Defense showed up? Miami laid down making the Jets seem like a team again. My guess is that the Jets will keep Roger’s as QB and draft a rookie QB. Jets will drag out former players and even current players to blow smoke up fans asses saying how instrumental Roger’s was and what a wonderful leader he is. Woody will struggle holding on to key players. He will hire a GM and Head Coach happy to take a check but won’t offer much in improvement. Season ticket holders will get a price increase. Easy to raise prices on a captive audience.
Rodgers played well against them in Miami. Jets should've & would've won that game had Adams stayed inbounds at the end of the game. I think it's safe to say Aaron Rodgers is a Dolphins-killer.
Woody to let new GM/HC decide what to do with Aaron. As I said before, this was an obvious move even for someone as dumb as him.
I and many other fans I think. In the second half possession yesterday when the Jets went wildcat and didn't get into the endzone. I could sense disappointment amongst the few Jets fans there that Aaron Rodgers didn't throw a TD to get the Jets into the endzone. Idiocy taking the ball out of Rodgers hands. The stadium PA guy after the Jets TDs yesterday mentioned the player who scored ending with "from Aaron Rodgers" to cheers from the fans. We like it when Aaron Rodgers throws TDs for the Jets. On the train ride home I heard one fan asking another so you want Aaron back next season the fan replied yes I do. WE WANT AARON RODGERS BACK!!
Rodgers’s touchdown numbers are also very deceptive. The Jets had the second fewest rushing touchdowns in the NFL. I’ll try to see if I can find attempts but yeah we were 24th in the league in scoring offense at 19.9 points per game and most of them were via throwing the ball in the red zone. It wasn’t some sort of prolific offense.
Fck it. Run it back with the entire cast of characters. If you're gonna bring back Rodgers, you'll have to bring back all the pieces he was able to rule over. That means one more year of Downing/Hackett. One more year of Ulbrich on the sidelines. All of Rodger's minions. One more year of the circus. No new GM/HC combo worth a damn will sign up to be Rodgers' pawns. Bringing back Rodgers means more drama. If that's your idea of fun and success, have at it. Not my cup of tea sorry. I'd rather see the Jets start over fresh than trot out "The Legend" and his merry men one more time. Enough already with circuses and controversy. Give me old fashioned improvement and class every time.
Nah if you want Rodgers back you give it a shot with Rex. I'd flat out tell Rex he has 1-2 year window. Either take it or leave it.
That's the part people seem to miss about yesterday. The Jets didn't suddenly morph into the 2017 Packers. Miami had nothing to play for and simply was waiting for 00:00 in the 4th so they could get that private jet flight back home. Those 4 TD's don't happen against a team playing for something. Yesterday was fun AFTER DEN put the beatdown on KC and the Dolphins knew it was over.
it was a bad offense all season. I'm not blinded by a good game against the terrible Jaguars or Dolphins already on vacation.
That's where I'm at. We're not going to get a decent HC since there doesn't seem to be any readily available this cycle. Might as well just embrace the suck and the circus and just go forward as an "entertainment" outlet of sorts. We're not making the playoffs anytime in the next 5 years anyway, might as well at least make it entertaining.
Good point.. We're already experts at being laughing stocks and not being taken seriously by anyone. Hiring Rex and bringing back Rodgers means we will own the back pages again over a developing Giants organization. That should make Woody and Brick giddy. Can you imagine the dueling interviews on the day after the games? Comedy gold for sure. We could keep all that money we would have spent on developing new talent and spend it on gimmicks like... Rodgers' Day..
They could keep Rodgers here for another 5-6 years so he could pass Tom Brady for the most TDs of all-time while wearing a Jets uniform. Surely that would be better than any result the Jets are actually capable of achieving as a team on the field.
I still have no idea what you are trying to say. Are you saying I didn't say in October that I like Rodgers?
It wouldn't cost anything. Flores would be promoted to HC, McCown would be promoted to OC, and Darnold is a free agent. The only thing that would be problematic would be if they franchise tagged Darnold.
